Hi

I'd say that the Cambrian route is 8.5/10, but if you want to see screenshots why dont you look at 3DTrainStuffs site or the review on UKTS

Hello,
I would rate it a good 8/10!
Look out for the review at my site around very early February time.

Hope this helps!

I can't find fault with it as far as i'm concerned, but i don't know the real life route that well. Lots of challenging driving with tank engines makes a difference from high speed express trains with big engines.

It certainly looks the part. The countryside detail is excellent, and the supplied engines are great. There is just limitation on activity creation though and it's not a route I use that much any more having driven it end to end twice.

Overall 80%.

6/10 ,the route is pretty good ,but mixing GWR steam and BR DMU`s is ridiculous.

I bought it recently, and having only driven a Class 50 set with two of them with 8 MK1s from Aber to Mac. (still can't pronounce or spell those), I can say it is great. Scenery is pretty good, and stations look brilliant.

Aber looks really quite realistic, but the rest of the route I don't know. However, I'd happy rate it 9/10, the highest rating I've ever given a route in any personal recommendation.

I've bought it for myself to be put away for Christmas so you'll have to wait a few days for my opinion, sad for me at least. I'm looking forward to seeing how realistic the 101 is as sadly 1st generation DMUs for MSTS are quite rare and none I've tried are very realistic (for a start all use the default sounds). Its also a route I've wanted to do for some time in real life but have never had the chance, so its the next best thing.

Having grown up in Tywyn and watched many Steam Shunting operations at that station as a boy in the early 60's. I was really excited when I spotted this add on for MSTS, I just had to get it. I was'nt dissapointed. As a boy I travelled the line regularly with my parents on shopping trips to Barmouth and Aberystwyth. I remember holiday makers arriving on "The Cambrian Coast Express" during the Summer months. The scenery is fairly accurate. I've had the Cambrian route now for a couple of days and I'm slowly adding new consists which include the BR Mk1 passenger coaches I remember travelling in. I Have'nt explored the whole length of the route yet. but I'd give it 9/10

99.9% the scenery is gorgeous and i only knocked off the 0.1% because there are some signals missing that protect the automatic crossing gates. :)

I very much like the scenery on the route, and it's an interesting route. The 101 is a pretty good model, but unfortunately the sound is disappointing - I suspect it's difficult (though I don't think impossible) to have sounds which are r.p.m.-dependent in each gear, so that there's the proper mix of transmission whine and engine note that you should get with a diesel mechanical multiple unit - I've yet to hear a convincing sound package for a 1st-generation DMU (and that's no criticism - when I even try to do anything with SMS files, it all goes horribly wrong).
