Guess what? No!

I didn't ever try the other suggestion whilst I was still at home. Don't ask why...

I no longer have the route now, as I am now in Swansea, on another PC. Right now I have got to get my PC working again (should have this done by Wednesday, fingers crossed, touch wood), then I'll be turbo-charging along with CE work (and yes, I know I've mentioned elsewhere that I wasn't going to boast it for a while, but tough)!
Project H2P status: Currently awaiting software to fix PC problems. Got a start on .mkr file, hoping to continue that soon. Wprk should re-commence very soon.

Ah right ok, no worries. It's just I thought you would have been amongst the first bunch of people to download the route, you being the ultimate FGW fan. :D

I might download it again, if I can. The university might have broadband, but we've got strictly limited disk space. :(

I'll see if I can get it.

And yes, I am the ultimate FGW fan. I've been hoping to tell you I think the route is great, hightlighting the best bits, and then writing activities. I might be able to do so soon. Right now I've exams to concern myself with :(

I think this is a stupid way of providing a HIGHLY wanted route. Emailing it is a waste of time!

Why not upload it to UKTS or something!

I really can't be bothered to email you to get the route

Then its your loss.

The email is an auto-responder, so you don't have to think of anything sensible to write, just address an email and press send - it's actually quicker than navigating the download library!

Why is emailing to get the route a waste of time? And why can't you be bothered? It'll barely take about 5 seconds. As Alan says, you'll get an auto-reply immediately when you've sent the email so that you can download the route.

This version of the route won't be uploaded to UKTS due to a small number of reasons, including the fact that the route isn't terrained and terraformed, that it weighs in at 1.49GB(which is a hell of lot for an un-scenerised route) once installed on your hard drive, and because of those two reaons I didn't want to get loads of negative comments which I may have done if I uploaded to UKTS.

So I've made a good decision I think, in that the only way people are going to know how to get the route is if they download the Information Pack, and after reading that info pack they'll be aware of what to expect from the route.

The download count would probably be somewhat higher if I uploaded to UKTS, but I much prefer the system I'm using now.......

Indeed. I think the system works OK.

Just a pity I couldn't get the route to work when I was at home...

Isn't that a silly amount for a route with no scenery ? Have you done all you can with route riter to minimise the size ?

Just download the GWML info pack and follow instructions.

I'll ask the same question as Rabid; I've now sent 3 e-mails and as yet have not received any download instructions

................OK, will be attempting to create a patch for the route to resolve some minor issues with the route. Not produced a patch before, so don't know how I will get on. Hopefully it should be available over the next week. And I'll update the auto response too so that all new people requesting the route will have the contents of the patch allready featured.

Will probably try and create some new activities for the route over the next few weeks. Running out of ideas though, so if anyone's got any ideas let me know and I'll see what I can do. And maybe we might get some further activities from other developers too.

Not overly enthusiastic about starting work extending the route at the mo I have to admit. Haven't had any feedback about the route for a while now. Plus the download count for the latest activity isn't that great. So am not sure if everyone who's downloaded the route is entirely happy with it. But haven't had a single negative feedback yet, which is good. So hmmmm....... might need some further encouragement for me to extend the route. Though I certainly would like to see the ruote extended to Swindon, Exeter, Exmouth, and Gloucester as the scope for activity creation will significantly improve. But I don't know when I'll get started yet....
