Ideas?
Sorry to hear you're having problems running it. It's a bit late now for me. But I'll be back tomorrow to try and solve your problem.....unless anyone else can help in the meantime?

Track database is the route tdb file. It probably got passed over during the unzip. Go back to the zipfile and find GWML West.tdb and unzip that into the route folder.

OK, will try that.

Thanks for the suggestion. Hopefully it'll work!

I just put a few pictures into the screenshots forumn.

One is OK but the other 2 don't really do the route justice but since I am at work currently it is not very practical to run to a more interesting part of the route :D

The boss probably would not understand :o
Kindest regards

I take it, XPTE, you've noticed the recent upload to this site of Bath Station?

Does this mean that if I loaded the route into the editor I could add this station to it :-? :-?

Yes, the Bath Spa station model uploaded is superb. Unfortunately though it won't fit perfectly to my route, as my route features a 1200m radius curve whilst this model is designed for a 1000m radius curve. The model was designed for the GWR Paddington-Penzance route really.

This route goes to show what a difference the track makes to realism, pity there is'nt a programme to convert default track to finescale. Hope you can find the time to do some scenery as this would not only make it even better but would give a graeter understanding of the area to those who don't know it.

Scenery, scenery - yes I do intend to do the scenery and am looking forward to it. Will be a fair while till I can even start on the scenery yet though. But the wait should be worth it when it's eventually finished. 8)

.........Going back to the subject of that '1618 Taunton-Cardiff Central' activity I withdrew due to a signalling problem which I didn't think would happen. Hope no one who downloaded this activity has drove it without reading the warning first, and then getting halted by a permanent red after over an hours driving. Appologies again if this is the case. Been a bit busy and not had time to fix this minor problem yet, but should have it done and re-uploaded by the weekend.

Plans for the GWML West project

Due to other committments for about the next month I will be unable to spend any time on both the route itself and any further activities. However, once I've got those commitments out of the way I will spend another month producting further activities for the route. So this will take us to about early March. After this, I will be unable to create any further activities(see below), so if there is to be any further activities for Phase 1 of this route they will only be created by other activity creators.

It has actually only been just over 2 weeks now since the route was available to the public. And allthough I haven't recieved the level of feedback I was hoping for, I am quite happy with the reception from the UKTS community about the route. I haven't recieved any complaints or moans about the route(thank goodness!) which is probably because everyone who's requested the route has had a good read through my "GWML West Information Pack" and been well aware of what to expect, I have got about feedback reports from about 7/8% of the total people who've downloaded it so far, which is actually above average according to other route authors who say that 1-5% is normally the norm. Also the download count for the uploaded activities is going reasonably well too. So at this stage it does look likely I will continue with the project. :D

It's getting late, will have to cut it short there I'm afraid. Will have to post the rest of what I was gonna say tomorrow........

When you get back to working on this excellent route, Marc (after your current temporary distraction! ), have a look at:-

Yes cheers Terry, thaat link will help in creating some more activities.

.........I'll give an update on the plans for the route soon. Basically, I will be continueing to extend and add scenery, etc to the route. But I don't know how long it's going to take. Chances are there will be a Version 2, followed somewhat later by Version 3 which will be the ultimate version with scenery and all mod-cons and will be the very last version of the route.
