Thanks again mjt222. Yes I do hope to continue with the project. Not totally sure yet if there is a demand for the route to be continued though, as I haven't had a great deal of feedback yet about the route. Though other route builders have said that they only get about a feedback rate of about 2-5% out of the download count, and as long as I haven't had any bad feedback then I guess I'm doing allright. I presume everyone who's downloaded the route is happy with the route and would like to see it continue? I'll have to continue monitoring the further activities download count too. The latest activity had a very low count of only 12 for over 12 hours and I was a bit worried, though I see the download count has now risen to..........28.

Not totally sure if I made the right decision in making the route available 'on request' only as that may have given many people the impression maybe the route isn't that good as I wasn't uploading it to UKTS, and for those people who aren't familiar with the real GWML may have thought it was a completely fictional representation of the real lines. I decided to make it available on request only when at the time the positive comments from the beta testers was only 4/10. But in the end the feedback was 6/7 from the beta testers. The only thing after this which made me still stick with my decision of making it request only was the fact that the route wasn't terraformed, and there has been no routes yet uploaded to UKTS which weren't terraformed.

I may upload it to UKTS shortly so that it gets a wider audience.

By the way, did you manage to get the route running in the end jjules?

I haven't looked again in the last week XPTE. I will do later on. however I'm on holiday as of tomorrow until the 4th of January. I'm at Bognor Regis' Butlins. Not my choice...

I'll let you know in the New Year. Have a good one!

Can anyone who has downloaded the route please confirm that you DON'T need to be a member of X-Drive to be able to download the route. I've had someone emailed me saying that they're not willing to pay up to join X-Drive just to be able to download the route. You only have to be a member if you're storing files on their webspace. I emailed him back saying that you don't need to be a member to download files, but he's emailed back still insisting that you need to be a member!

Accessing your file is easy!

To save the file to your hard drive, click the Download button and follow the instructions provided by your web browser.

To open the file, click the Open button and the file will be opened in a new window. (More Info)

If you have an Xdrive account and would like to move the file to your Xdrive, click the Copy button and then enter your login information.

... and if you don't have an Xdrive account, click the Sign-Up button and get a free 15-day trial!
Thats what is shown, plus the little icons of course. Just click the download and away you go no sign up needed.

XPTE,

At first, I was faced with the same problem of Xdrive, although one gets 15 days free you must give your credit card details to gain access to download. I then noticed the net passport symbol (bottom left of web page), activated net passport on my PC and gained access immediately.

Disabling GetRight did it for me.

Working on many projects at the moment XPTe, so still can't confirm my views on your route. Trying to find where I have UKFS on my PC to re-install it.

I'll get back to you soon.

Confirmed - it doesn't work with any download manager - to override getright hold shift when clicking on the download link.

Apart from that, I had no problem not being a member and was not asked for card details, trial account or anything.

OK, cheers for confirming that.

Jjules, no probs you haven't drove the route yet. We're pass the beta testing stage now so there's no rush. Install and drive it when you have time.

...........To everyone who downloaded the 1618 Taunton-Cardiff Central service tonight. There was a prob with it, so I've taken the activity offline. If you haven't ran the activity yet, it's best to wait until I upload it again and fixed the problem. Fortunately only 16 people downloaded it tonight. But if you drove it, you would have got as far as Temple Meads after an hour and six minute's driving and would have got stumped by a permanent red signal. The activity was previously tested, then I realised I missed an extra piece of A1 traffic out, then added it and didn't realise it would cause any problem. Anyway, I know how to fix but it will have to wait until tomorrow night now.

Appologies to anyone who drove the activity and got stumped by that permanent red. If you have allready ran the activity, please let me know and I'll also do a shorter version of the activity running from Nailsea & Backwell so that you don't have to drive all the way from Taunton again.

Yeah, but I should have been able to confirm by now what I think of the route. After all of the posts I made saying I was looking forward to the route. I'll be back later to make a post hopefully!

BTW, I went to Bristol TM yesterday, and didn't notice the curviness of the platforms, so I won't miss that feature.

Just installed UKFS (I think) again, and it still doesn't work. Go into AE, and it goes "Failed to load track database" still.

Ideas?
