Oh yeah. Long story with that...

Still, if I get it, my flat will be one more step towards complete train fanatic heaven!

I have one of those somewhere. It was a special offer from Rail magazine some years ago. It has a normal boring ringtone, but its headlights flash when it rings :)

Im sure someone could figure out a way of moding it to have either the paxman whine or two tone horn instead of boring old ring-ring.

I can picture that, and loving the idea!

I'd be happy with an IC-liveried standard phone. It would look better than the one I have right now!

If it had a paxman whine id just ring it off my mobile all day. :D Or I could get out and stand on a station and listen to the real thing but its cold outside! And how come Yorkshire got snow and no-one else did

Can you get telephones that let you have a custom ringer?
If so, the idea of a 2 tone horn/Paxman sound might not be so "jokey" as its really a reality!

(PS: My bro had a mobby where you could record your own ringer!)

do the class 91s have paxmann engines? I thought they were some sort of BREL contraption, and only the class 43s, 56s etc were paxmann motored??
