Maybe a new forum section need to be?
Train Drivers and Cab Rides? it should be called. For people to ask "How do i become a train Driver?" questions and about Cab rides, and have a Sticky saying about companes do not offer cab rides, and everything.

You can't actually copyright an idea, you can only copyright something that exists in some physical form.

i got a cabride on a 153. not the most thrilling in the world, but it is what it is, dwon the shrewsbury line towards wolverhampton. the train was full up, and i was with my elderly grandfather, so the driver, who was a real nice guy, let my grandad have the spare seat in the cab, while i just around and admired the scenery, pretty cool.

Errr... Its easy enough to forcably get into any cab on the LU. On newer stocks its simply a case of pulling a ring on the back of the door and it will open. On older stocks its a case of smashing glass which covers the lever (or you could just get the square-type key for it).

Who here is going to force the drivers door open just to have a cab ride?

Hey, a spoon goon managed to get into the back cab of 47813 on the sleeper some time this week...the driver kept noticing the brakes coming on and off, and a figure was spotted by the lostwithiel signalman, flailing out the back cab windows. At liskeard (about 20 mins and 2 stations) down the line, the driver walked round to the back cab to find a figure wrenching on and off the handbrake wheel. Driver opened the door and the bloke flung himself out and away into the night.

Talk about '47 bashing ;) (and no it wasnt me :D)

I have a T key, i've used it twice before now, once I let someone out of a 4CIG as someone decided to use it as a Guards Van.

The BR "Acme Thunderball" my dad still has his, nice loud one too.

Mind you, for the older cabs, you don't need a T key, an ice lolly stick has been used in the past.

T key will not open a tube cab door, its the opposite to a J door key, T key is male and J door is female, we are not allowed to let any members of the public in without a cab pass, we get in deep deep shi@#& if we are caught.
