Rail industry thoughts
What company in the railways industry would you work for, given the choice?
I've chosen Virgin Trains, as all of the staff I've dealt with that work for Virgin Trains have all been most helpful and friendly. God, I'd love to be a part of that team!
What about you guys?

Out of the choice's given there, I can only say the SRA, as someone has to run the GAF & I would rather the SRA held it back as a bench mark to asses costs/profits & running it as a not for profit, with all the turnover GE brings in the whole franchise could run subsidy free & pay for replacement stock out of whats left (with no shareholders this would be quite a lot!)

Having worked for BR and knowing quite a few people who jumped ship on privatisation and most that I know on the railway have joined since privatisation and do nothing but moan, the answer would be none of them.
Most may not have a future when the SRA has finished with them. Only the frieght one's are left.
Freightliner are very forward looking and probably have a secure future.

Do First own MML & CT? I thought that was National Express or is National Express the same company as First?
I went with GNER just because they operate a very classy service. I would like a job high up in Central Trains just to be able to see if its possible to turn it round and run it as a profit making, popular TOC (Train Operating Company before some asks

I'd too LOVE a job in rail management. The ultimate high, running a successful TOC!
The National Express Group owns the Midland Mainline, I'm pretty sure of that. Central Trains I don't know about, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were a part of the NEG. First don't own them, yet, but that can't be too far off now.
