Have you tried my activity "Shunting at the Yard" it features the 08 and is set at Carmarthen in the early 60's. File ID No 6854chriscooper wrote:Mostly passenger but some freight. A lot of this is due to the fact that their are far more passenger activities available than freight for all the routes. I do enjoy shunting activities, even more since I got the brilliant 08 cab and sounds, but sadly thier are very few available.
Play Up Pompey.

Even later with my Peugeot 806 'cruiseliner'. On the MSTS front, as people know I mostly do content, but I am looking forwards to some freight struggle (electric + steam) in the near future.jains15 wrote:if ur too late i cetainly am.buffy500 wrote:So I'm too late to say Subaru Impreza then ?johndibben wrote:Suzuki Alto .... whoops .... remember that thought, you'll need it for next time you break down ! (Given most MGF's reliability)jains15 wrote:if ur too late i cetainly am.buffy500 wrote:So I'm too late to say Subaru Impreza then ?johndibben wrote:Suzuki Alto .... whoops .... Martin's done that joke![]()

Not for long mateyjjules wrote:I prefer express services, which is probably why I set up a new activity last night on Modern England stopping only at Cardiff, Manchester, Oxford, Reading and Kings Cross. Still, it's a bloody long way from Manchester to Oxford with no other stops in between!
Not long to wait now
Thanks

i have money put aside for the inevitable head gasket failure at 50,000 miles.
although having said that, i had a peugeot 306 for a year and in that year it needed a new clutch, recon gearbox, tappet re-align. New brake disks and pads. suspension work. it flattened its battery and wouldn't engage 1st after being in reverse and sometimes it wouldn't start. it had done 55k miles!
so far the MG which has done 45K miles, has cost me 2 new tyres and a battery for the remote locking blipper! i think its a keeper

I hate 'stupid little sports cars', but I do like the way the MGF looks.jains15 wrote:Grantedbuffy500 wrote:

But I'll stick with the AWD 5 seater with sensible hatchback boot space though cheers !.
Its funny, since getting the scoob, no one wants to race me(*), I thought that the MAX POWER boys would not be able to resist. Always thought that the Nova / Corsa boys were a bunch of whimps !
* I did let the bird in the 106 GTI think she was going to win, mainly cos I had no petrol !

In MSTS, mostly passenger. Freight runs are untimed, and most activities seem to have no work order, whereas passenger runs do have a timetable to follow - and MSTS makes it less than easy to keep to that... Express and non-stop runs are tedious unless you're driving steam, but with modern diesels and electrics all it takes is the odd notch change on the throttle to hold speed for tens of miles at a time. Where's the fun in that
On the road, an '02 Pontiac GrandAmSE, or an '03GrandAmGT. 36k on the '02, had five oil changes so far, 6k on the '03, due its second change soon. Never a hint of trouble with either car.... and I used to think Detroit iron was .. I'd still like an Outback wagon, though. AWD'd be very handy in Michigan winters....
