i have the advent 3518 and it is excellent for msts and trs2004, you can run both on top top top graphics quality and still not even get a stutter. i ran the TGV Duplex on LBE on full graphics power and not even a stutter now that's what i call a good PC
With Thanks

I bought an Advent 3518 this morning, Looks impressive and even when I had the side of the case off as I transferred my old hard drive data to the master drive it was still actually quieter than my old PC!
The firewire port is a most welcome addition, My MP3 player is uploading 20gb of mp3's like sh1t off a shovel.
Tomorrow I will install MSTS and then London to Brighton.
I must say, The internal layout of the Advent 3518 is the best I've seen yet, Doesn't look cluttered and the hard drives are really easy to remove as they're installed side on within a removable cage that's held in place by one screw designed for unscrewing by hand.

You guy's might like to take a look at this site:

I'm not claiming it's the holy grail, but they do seem to give considered reviews of basic components.
If you read their reviews on Graphics cards they are very critical of "fast"cards with "." drivers for instance.
Beware magazine reviews of prebuilt machines. Often reviewed in good faith by the mags, they are then marketed with a "modified" spec. Not usually an improved one!!

According to this months issue of COMPUTER SHOPPER, MSTS 2 should be on sale before Christmas, "It promises all the realism of MFS Products, with a more down to earth setting."jonhewes wrote:What about the graphics cards? If you're looking to play MSTS at a decent resolution and frame rate it is crucial to make sure that you get a good one. To be honest, if you want a PC which is future-proof and capable of running MSTS 2 (when it finally comes out) at a decent frame rate, I'd make sure it has a decent card in it, and if possible, avoid MX standard cards.
we'll have to wait and see.
