Having read the previous thread on altering passenger views I was reminded of another irritation with MSTS.
Passenger views have been getting better in rendition and some quite imginative uses (additional cab perspectives, outside wagons etc.) so what really hacks me off is why can't you access a passenger view in a piece of rolling stock (that you know has one) that is not part of your consist at the start of a trip? That is for example when in an activity you pick up a number of carriages having travelled to a platform where they are waiting. Also why, when you "drop off" some wagons from a consists, does the brake van passenger view no longer function?
Sorry if this is "basics", but you never learn them if you don't ask.
Also is there a fix for this?
Geoff.
More passenger view issues....

Thanks Stewart.
It was a practicable solution that I was after rather than the technical reason. Still Interested to know that if anyone out there can tell me.
Trouble is that when we look at all these "silly little glitches" you wonder just where their minds (Kuju? Microsoft?) were at when they came up with queues of "humanoids walking robotically into the train" (MSTS2 preview video). One wonders if they poured onto the lines if you overshot?
I'm all for a bit of icing..... you have to make the cake first though!
Without the independant developers, and mostly those who've done it for love, MS wouldn't be able to give MSTS2 away with Cornflakes!!

There is no "fix" at the moment, and not likely to be one.
The rule is quite simple.
When you start or load an activity, MSTS checks the front engine for a passenger view. If it finds one, that is what you get on view 5, if not it goes to the next wagon, then the next, until it finds one or runs out.
Now, if you don't have a passenger view, you never will have, unless you save and reload after pickting up something with one.
Further, if your only passenger view is in a brake van, and you uncouple, you loose this.
There is nothing mysterious about this behaviour, it is very logical. The only improvement that could hav ebeen made, is if there is no view, and you couple so that there is one, it becomes available. But in effect saving and reloading does just this.
