Yeh when BR changed all their signs they got rid of the old ones and when beaching cloaed stations people went and took the signs no noe bothered as the stations was not to be used again \ dismolished
They can make a lot of money the bigger they are the more they fetch but watch for the replicas
If you want a sign there is an origional midland Railway sign form 1912 on the wall in the entrance to Leicester London Road Station below the clock tower been on the wall since the station was built

Nick it and see how long it takes them to notice its gone. We've got a BR Southern "Private" sign on our shed, came off the Polegate Crossing Signal box when they changed the signs, for a few weeks we did have the nameboard with "Polegate Crossing" written on it but it was too big to keep and sold it on. Shame really.
