Yeh when BR changed all their signs they got rid of the old ones and when beaching cloaed stations people went and took the signs no noe bothered as the stations was not to be used again \ dismolished

They can make a lot of money the bigger they are the more they fetch but watch for the replicas

If you want a sign there is an origional midland Railway sign form 1912 on the wall in the entrance to Leicester London Road Station below the clock tower been on the wall since the station was built

The sign was not stolen.

The text says he got it at collectors corner.
This was a shop at Euston to which all BR departments would send anything which would sell for more than scrap.
I think the profits went to the original Clapham museum.

I wish I had brought a Intercity Swallow, MML was auctioning them off when they started applying their teal livery.

LOL, yea what is that 58 doing there except looking very sorry for itself. Has its certificate to run on the mainline expired? Maybe we should sell it on e-bay even though its not ours :P

Nick it and see how long it takes them to notice its gone. It took the train spotters at Eastleigh 6 weeks to notice some wagons had disappeared {they were derelict}

We've got a BR Southern "Private" sign on our shed, came off the Polegate Crossing Signal box when they changed the signs, for a few weeks we did have the nameboard with "Polegate Crossing" written on it but it was too big to keep and sold it on. Shame really.
