Thomas for MSTS - email from Mr Tophamm Hatt

Post by duncharris »

I got this email a while ago, after I'd sent an them an email and forgotten about it. I thought it might be of some interest to some of you...

My Dear Friend

Many thanks for your recent email asking if there will be a Thomas product for the Microsoft Train Simulator.

As a Distinguished Gentleman of the Railways, I must confess I have little time to keep abreast of the latest developments in Thomas merchandise. 'Pon my soul, there are not enough hours in the day to manage all my Engines and other Railway Responsibilities!

However, I set aside a little time from my current timetabling duties to speak to my Mainland Colleagues on your behalf.

After speaking to these splendid fellows, I regret to inform you that at present there are no plans for such a product.

Now, if you will excuse me, my grandchildren are expected to arrive at the Hatt residence very soon, and I would like to take them down to the harbour to admire the tall ships from the Regatta.

With kind regards, I remain

Yours truly,

Sir Topham Hatt
The Fat Controller

He has a sad life doesnt he. Send him 10 E-mails and he will go down the regatta 10 times. I bet his grandchildren would rather drive a train.

It was a joke about when you send him (Topham hatt) an email he will keep saying he is going down to the reggata but his grandchildren would proably want to drive a train.

How are road trams crazy? Most trams run on roads (or to be precise, on rails that run along the roads) a part of the way.

I think he means rails buried into the road, like Metrolink. Read his post.

Actually David  *cough* I've made blueprints of a tram thatI'm designing that could actually work with OR without (!!!) rails

Well actually, trams with tires do work, they were called trolley bus's & london used to run them very succesfully! It solves the problem of idiots parking veihcles over the rails of a tramway in that the trolley bus could stear around the obstruction rather than being stuck & have to wait for it to be moved! Bring them back I say,0% pollution, no road digging up to lay rails, & effective mass transit of passengers!
Oh & Riche please stop being a f***ing . please edit that message to remove all the smilies, it takes ages to see what you typed as a reply thanks to them! :argue:
