BIG Video 125 Update

Post by Christopher125 »

Hi

http://www.video125.co.uk has been massively changed. They now have a News page about the progress of upcoming videos. Also, a Piccadilly Line Drivers Eye View video/dvd has been released.

Ye, it looks like we're not going to see the Bristol-Derby Voyager cabview until next Summer now. I was really looking forward to that one. Also looking forward to that London-Paris Eurostar video too, that also looks in doubt. Heard this news when I phoned their info line last week.

Glad to see they've upgraded their site though, it looks much better. However, I've just done a quick check and it appears that they haven't got a secure order form system on their site yet.

At last it looks a bit more decent!

From the small print: "Credit Card Security: All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site."

Maybe only the actual payment page is encrypted? Not having the need to buy any DVDs/vids (got 'em already) I didn't go that far.

The rather good Piccadilly video has been mentioned down in the Underground forum here.

At last, they've moved into the 21st century! :)

I'd ordered my Piccadilly by fax, so can't test their new shopping thingie.

XPT, where did you find the "coming soon" section, I can't see it.

Also, they do have secure ordering, its the standard actanic catalogue software, card details are encrypted by a java aplet and submitted.

For details of the releases coming soon you need to click on the 'news' link. Next release coming out is the Uckfield Thumper. Will probably get that one.

That's good it is a secure order form then, as I didn't think it was because there wasn't one of those padlock icons displayed when on the order page.

D'oh, what a newbie! Fancy missing the NEWS button!!

Hmm, I see they're not going to re-release any VHS onto DVD - I was hoping they would.

A 21st century site, so what does Alan do? Order by 1970s technology. :P
