Mine was same price as that!! 4 CDs! Car boot sale, officer.

MS is one company that I certainly don't have any qualms about depriving of one small fraction of the hundereds of pounds they've had off me with Links, FS, MSTS, and all at a daring £20 more than any other company would dare charge for entertainment software.

And when Links didn't work? "Take it back to the shop" said Mr Microsoft. "I can't, its from PC World and I'm not lugging my PC to them just to prove it won't load on MY machine", I said, after having already tried to get money back. "Send it to us then, and no, we won't pay postage or anything, and if we find you've scratched it, we'll just send it back to you"
What sort of attitude is that? No-one else would DARE. Ended up getting a No CD patch for it off the net and the Links CDs haven't left their box since! Shouldn't have to do that though really for £50 plus £20 for more courses.
And no, I've not bought software from PC World since, only hardware

I use no cd patches simply because its a pain in the arse having to insert the required disc in order to play a game.
I'm also wary of the fact that if I didn't use a no cd patch the cd used to verify the games legitmacy would become worn out quite quickly, being transported between case and drive.
I doubt f I emailed or even bothered to phone the respective producers they'd be willing to supply the designated disc free of charge.

I have both FSIM 2002 and FSIM 2004 on my machine.
The 2002 install is about 6 Gigs big now including various Add-On Planes and Scenery.

Also good to try is Vatsim, gives you realtime ATC over the net.
Its free to join and makes it as real as it gets.

Check it out here!!

http://www.vatsim-uk.org/

The Default Scenery in FSIM 2004 has now really come up to the required level and you shouldn't need any Add-Ons to save space.

Also try a program called FSMeteo that really adds changeable Weather.

I wouldn't say that about the default scenery. It's an improvement ut its still not good/great. Still can't wait for Gary Summons to get his UK2000 scenery up to date or re-released.
Someone seriously needs to revamp EGNT. MS have butchered it .

I've 22Gig of additional ./stuff/quality stuff (although how Properties comes up ith 28+Gig I don't know).
Don't get me wrong'02 is still a good sim, but that is on the condition you pay the likes of LAGO, Phoenix Simulations and simw.com a visit in order to bring it up to scratch. To bring FS2002 up to the standard of '04:CofF you'll probably be talking a good £30-£50 on to of the price o the sim itself.

It actually says in the General Sectios info that you can post about Trains, SIMULATORS, even the Real Thing (tm)
So this is a simulator, and like i was with getting Sim City 4, i am in great conflict on weather to get this title.

I'm using FS2000 Pro at the moment but it's kinda dull. I prefer stuff with more context to it so I go for the CFS series but the last version, CFS3, was a bit of a let down. If you want a flight sim where you get to shoot things, go through campaigns and have the option to design your own missions etc I'd go for IL2 Forgotten Battles - hands down !
