20227

Post by numnutz »

Hi I went to this site today:

http://www.class31.org.uk/gallery/photos/sj030111.jpg

quite a nice picture of 31110 but I was most intrigued by the Loco behind it - 20227 apparently in Metropolitan livery with the Metropolitan Shield on it.

Can anyone shed light on this and is there a pic of said 20227 in the met livery on the Net.

NN :)

I Believe That is the class 20, which was used alongside Sarah Siddons as the brake power engines on LUL's "Steam on the Met".

But I could be wrong.

From what I can remember, whilst I was driving Steam on the Met (4144) the class 20 was owned by some group and kept and operated by LUL.

I will try to find out more.

class20 locomotive association 20227 was in railfreight with the large logo and red sole bar. Was also named aswell me thinks it was the original Traction magazine namer. Anyway i think they own 20118 which was still in railfreight last time i looked.
