Actually, always liked the old Derby Lightweights that ran down the Cumbrian coast. There was something very chilled about them - sort of like a rail-borne equivalent of Dylon the rabbit from Magic Roundabout.

The class 124 DMUs - they were the well-known canine dangling bits. They were completely different inside to any other first-generation DMU with compartments in part of the unit (first class only? - memory plays tricks), loads of wood trim and they went like a rocket. Such a shame none were preserved - stuffed full of asbestos unfortunately.
