All three... RailDriver when it's a diesel as that's the best way of all for controlling the things, keyboard for all the little bits and pieces and for those things that the RD doesn't work too well, and mouse for kettle reverser and brake handles as that way you get the best (and fastest) control.

A whip. Sometimes a baseball bat when I'm very frustrated. If that fails, the 12-bore in my cupboard comes in handy. If I'm really really furious I send an e-mail :D

I use the keyboard 99% of the time. The only time I use my mouse is when I can be bothered (having dyspraxia puts me off using it too much in TS)

I would use the RD, but I can't afford it yet...

Roll on the day I can drive a real-life train (one of my life goals, no matter how sad you might think it is, it's true)

That's not sad.

Having gone from having very little interest in trains to making cabviews for MSTS in the 2 years since it was released, I'd like to second that. I really fancy having a go myself. I'm hinting to Mrs F that a good birthday pressy next year would be a kettle driving session on a preserved line. Just got to find the right kettle at the right price.

That's not a kettle, it's a facehugger holding tank.

Sorry to spoil the fun but returning to the thread, I am using a Microsoft SideWinder Pro Game pad. Most of the keyboard commands can be programmed into it.
In previous post (as a Guest) I explained how I had programmed a SideWinder Precision 2 Joy Stick but although this can cope with all the basic commands and gives a nice grip the flight controls cannot be programmed. On the game pad on the other hand, all buttons are programmable which can give most of the driving controls for steam or diesel as well as being able to look around and set a route.
