Water In Skipton 1920's

Post by davidspooner »

This might sound like a rather silly question but does anyone actually see any water when they drive over the troughs at Garsdale??

I just get a beige strip between the rails and no water. I've checked my graphic settings and they were turned down a little but even with all settings on maximum i still only get a beige coloured strip.

Cheers

not come to this one yet but sounds much like the troughs on Settle & Carlisle 1930 dont look ultra realistic but just bung your water scoop in and get it out a bit quick before you run out of trough otherwise a busted Scoop. you try getting lined up to get water out of any Trackside water filler tank on Skipton & Carlisle and you ave to measure your nearness to the filler in Thousands of a millimeter and even then you probably wont get any. These watering points are super critical even when the filler bag swings out over your tender dont expect water. Stop with the filler bag on your tender you wont get water in fact your chances of getting water are probably better in the Ghobi Desert. Living in the area(as I do) believe me water is NOT a problem so in this way Skipton and Carlisle is a million gallons away from the actuality. Give us a drink I say

I believe it is the size of the opening set in the .eng file which determines the sise of the opening for filling, not the chute itself.

This is because I use a different ACleanTrack1.ace and ACleanTrack2.ace, which gives the rusty narrow rail look, it gives this unfortunate appearance to the troughs and also some odd textures on certain points, but I prefer the overall look of it compared to either the default or other rail textures available.

You can easily go back to the default by copying the above named files from the various Europe 1 texture folders.

Can I correct you all. :)

You can change that bit of the texture. Give me a few minutes and I'll go do it.

Then I'll drive the route and Post a screenshot. :D

The texture I knoced together there is a bit rough. eg. The Points had water in top of some bits but it worked ok. :) I am going to go tweak the textures a bit more I think just to remove the Strange effect of the Points. :D

Except of course that brown, or oily dark grey would probably be the correct colour anyway - not sunny seaside blue... ;)

While laying in bed this morning, contemplating my navel, I thought I would mention the trough water colour that Alan had chosen, but I see that Martin has beaten me to it.

I personally have no objections to this alteration, I think it would be a big improvement, but I would bring it to everyone’s attention to read the Copyright.htm on the CD, this is an extract from it: -

"The items that are available from Internet sites, Train-sim.com and UK Trainsim or other sources and are used in the route, in all instances their authors retain the copyright."

A small but very important point, Jim Ward is the author.

Regards.
