so that's how there made just had to say something 170's are my fav dmu's i just love them if i have to go anywere by train it has to be by 170 if not then a class 25 will do but only if i can stick my head out the window to get the full sound....

The 170's are rumoured to be ready for winter service to replace the DEMU's (Thumpers, or whatever you want to call them). Because the Sh***y Rail Assers want to get rid of them. They will use 2 car 170's for the Hastings Ashford International services and on the Uckfield Oxted service.
Summer next year will see introduction of the 3 car or possibly even 4 car 170s for new Uckfield London Bridge services and a new Brighton Ashford International services.
The pictures shown are the first coach to be made apparently so that makes it 33 vehicles left to make.

Well, they dont fluctuate in intensity, and they can be seen from about 4 miles away. They look great if you ask me.phat2003uk wrote:Why do trains now have to have high in intensity lights and I see that instead of them being clear, they're blue!
