Those don't look like Gresleys to me, Mike...I reckon they're Mk1 with strange, brown passenger doors. Is this a sign that not everything is ready (which of course is inevitable, it doesn't ship for months yet) or is it a basic error like putting the maroon-era BR emblem on the blue/grey v.1.2 downloads?

To be honest I'm not all that fussed what the British route is in MSTS2.

The S&C as supplied with MSTS1 is about tenth on my list of favourites, it's not bad, and I enjoy running the 3D Train Stuff stock and activities on it, but there are a lot of better routes out there such as Ruabon-Llangollen Bala, Mid-East UK, West Higland Line, Woodhead, S&C 1930's and all the rest. Not to mention the Cambrian Route and the Bluearrow SVR which will arrive shortly.

I see the routes that come 'in the box' as being more like the samples you get with art packages, somewhere to start and a demonstration of what the package can do.

It would be very nice if the routes are included are good to great, but I am more concerned by the overall package and what it can do in the hands of all the talented people out there. If it's true that you can import stuff from MSTS1 then I'll be parting with the readies as soon as it's available.

Well having listened to us lot whinging for 18 months I expect the packaged routes will offer a bit more interest and accuracy this time around.

Eeep, my bad

I was going by the bogies, which I mistook for being Gresley bogies...Mk1 bogies and Gresley bogies look allmost the same to me (especially when they're poorly textured )

The news about compatability is a huge relief - at least we can go into MTS2 in the knowledge that the residual content will work until can get something produced on the new editors.

"Import content from MSTS1" - not routes?

"Users also will find it easy to add content from third-party sources"

- Some kind of packaging file format like trainz?

I'm looking forward to seeing what they've done - though I suspect visually you won't see much difference. I do hope they've fixed the physics though.

A packaging format (especially for routes) would be very very useful - anyone who suffered the horrors of installing my totalling mis-thought out install/upgrade for Woodhead V1.0/V1.1 will agree here!

I'd respond to that with some suitable witticism Steve but my typing arm which came in file 6 of 8 does not seem to have been installed properly.

It's the S&D - they probably haven't built the coaches yet (going through Jenkinson & Essery no doubt)

The Black 5 looks great, shame about the difference in colour of the loco and tender and the coach behind the tender looks odd as well.

Here's some more screenshots...the first one with signals in...albeit ground signals...Notice they do glow a bit more like proper lights...

And judging by the track there looks to be a new form of dynamic track in there!

I'd rather not have the British route if its gonna be another poxy old time steam route :fist:

It should be a modern route i wouldnt mind if it aint in UK then

it ent so much the 'steam route' aspect it is the Old Timey aspect

Come on guys, how many times do I have to say this - the S&C that shipped with MSTS1 was not some 'poxy old time steam route'. The track layouts and signalling was as per the 1970s - 1980s, you could run any BR green or blue diesel up there with Mk1 or Mk2 coaches and everything would look fine except for the two old fashioned cars in the car spawner.

The Scotsman never worked that line in the 30s anyway, what you got in MSTS1 was a fairly recent S&C route with a 'preservation run' type set of activities - the presence of a GWR Castle and LMS Royal Scot in the one route just made it seem that much sillier.

If you want to see what the S&C looked like in the 'poxy old time steam' days then look how different Pat Daltons S&C 1930s route is to the Kuju offering.

And less of the insults towards our fine railway heritage as well please; if it wasn't for those poxy old Victorians in their poxy old steam engines you wouldn't have a modern railway network today.
