Kings-cross-York/Leeds is the route. No title as yet.
All research is now complete, and the commercial version is a complete rebuild from the ground up. And will be several times better than the old route. Includes:
Transition gradients
Transition curves
Detailed overheads, in the correct zig-zag formation.
Detailed signalling
Accurate landscape
Detailed landscape.
The route should fill a whole CD.
I've just spent the last 3 days photographing every station on the route in great detail, including under bridges and canopies. Not a thing has been missed. This hopefully will be as real as it gets, and be the most accurate modern route to date.
That’s as much detail as I can give away at present, but more will be available in due course.
Remember the ‘GNEReastcoast’ route is now the responsibility of connex, so any requests on that side should be directed toward him.
Many thanks.

Well if anything I have a tendency to do likewise. I've quite often found myself 1 km from the track putting in roads and details without realising very little can be seen from the cab. It's all down to individual preference both from the route builder and the driver - and ultimately down to how much time you have when building the route. One of the things I like about doing Highland routes is you can get that effect largely just from properly shaped terrain and the textures. However apply that to the area around, say Finsbury Park, and you could end up with 2000 objects on a tile and still not really confer the image of a conurbation.

Will it have the Hertford Loop?
It's good that the GNER East coast is not gone for good.
What Junctions are there except the one to Leeds what I know about.
I have the stock for the Ecml, and some more stock, but no Electrified ECML Route.
I also plan on putting 319's with the 317's, 313's and 365's, also a few other trains with the ones listed above on this route when I get it.

You realise that this tread was over 2 years old ?
This route will not appear in the way described in this thread.
It has been taken over by EB and is now a commercial route running from KingX to PB.

Highworth holds this position exclusively...buffy500 wrote:Why?
2 years later it was unlikely a freeware project was still continuing.
(If it was then I would have expected an update or 2 in that time)

Because I have been after a realistic, Electrified route of the East Coast Main line for 4 years running now, and I hear that a better one is coming, then I hear it has been overtaken by some lunatic that is only doing it up to peterborough, it probably wont include the Hertford Loop Branch, and it won't be the way I want it.

Go to the MSTS folder on your start menu, click on "editors and tools"...hertford wrote:I have been after this route for 4 YEARS, I am not giving up, if I have to I'll complain to the lunatic overtaking this fine started project and just blowing peoples dreams to smithereens like mine.
I am not just saying; "oh, it's not important."
It is important to me
in 4 years you could have built the thing.

So complaining to EB will achieve what ?
From memory, East Coast was going nowhere until EB took it over, (and I do know this because I was involved at the time!)
This freeware route was long dead, by then. The project this thread was discussing was stale for about 7 months before EB were involved.
So in reality, the choice was pretty much, this or nothing. I'd rate the chances of it showing up as freeware as low to nil.
God help me for saying such a thing but, instead of blaming EB for East Coast, you might actually want to realise that maybe you need to thank EB actually bringing East Coast to your screen, because I suspect its the onlyway you will ever get to see it.
The freeware versionof this route, apart from the excellent start GoingNorth made to the route, has suffered the same as much of the MSTS community do. ie, lots of good ideas and demands and wants, and not much of anyone actually getting up and doing anything !

So they should take time out to build what YOU want?hertford wrote:I have been after this route for 4 YEARS, I am not giving up, if I have to I'll complain to the lunatic overtaking this fine started project and just blowing peoples dreams to smithereens like mine.

As others have said, if you want it doing, get it done yourself, instead of chucking your toys out of the pram....
