Looks to be fairly similar to some of the early cauldron wagons used in the North-East (northumberland and Durham coalfields), from about the pre-Stockton and Darlington Railway era. Most cauldron wagons were horse drawn or cable hauled by steam winch.

Can anyone add an .eng file to a horse? It would make an interesting consist! ... (of course fuel consumption may be a problem)

Fuel consumption would be no problem, feed it curry, make it a steamer in its eng file, and let smoke out of its arse.

Well, yes, this type of wagons was used in early days of railways, perhaps from last years of XVIII century. In the image, the same wagon (more or less...) with the Blenkinsop locomotive, in Middleton Railway in circa 1812. I think that wagons similar to this type survived in some horse railways of UK in the XX. I remember to see a photo of them.

About eng. file to a horse... I think problem it is not eng. file. The problem is to animate valve gear of the horse! :D

I hope you like the wagon.
