Searching for an engine!

Post by eholly »

Hi Chaps

I've a new activity ready to upload to UKTS but am struggling to find the engine I've used in the library - so I can include it in my Stock List.

The route is Cambrian Coast 2 and the engine is listed as kng_BR_Ivatts_balahub\kng_BRIvatt2Mt_46521.eng. This is not the Green version.

Can you help track this stock item down?

I'm hoping it is not just a BalaHub stock item.

Cheers

Hi Ged

Many thanks pal, I knew I could rely on the "wizard". I had decided that 15465 was probably the one I was looking for - but the addition of balahub to the title made me unsure.

Cheers

The Bala CD version includes alternative .eng files for AI and manual firing by David Ward.

This was done as the AI fireman kept turning on the injectors causing loss of steam pressure on the long grades.
The AI locos had the power increased to compensate.

Not sure which .eng file was used in the download version.

Hi Gentlemen,
Loco 46521 supplied with the Bala Hub route is a green version.

Player Loco
There are differences between the eng file of this and that of the UKTS download, but as far as I can see, there are only two which might affect the operation of the loco :

Bala Hub
MaxBoilerOutput ( 32500lb/h)
CylinderEffectivity ( 1 )

UKTS
MaxBoilerOutput ( 18500lb/h )
CylinderEffectivity ( 1.4 )

The other differences concern the Stiffness, Damping and Velocity parameters for the Couplings.

AI Loco
The only functional differences between the Bala Hub supplied .eng file and that of the UKTS download are in the Stiffness and Damping coupling values, and only the Bala Hub version contains Velocity and Antislip entries.
For both versions, the MaximumBoilerOutput is 18500lb/h and the CylinderEffectivity is 1.4.

Cheers,
