Community CD Question
Hi,having just been browsing through the CD list I noticed the Northern Rails Route 6.0 CD can anyone give me any details on this route please. The reason I ask is because I am running out of options to buy anything so I can renew my premium membership, because over the years I have collected all of the main routes that interest me.Thanks.Peter.

Re: Community CD Question
Hi Peter, I dug out my Activity Analyser Sheets for this route which I did many years ago, the plan of the Route is quite large but as the author
admitted is not a true scenic representation on all of the Routes.
It has many lines but the main run is from Lancaster to Lockerbie with branches to Windermere and after Carlisle up to Annan, also covered is
the run from Carlisle to Carnforth via Barrow and Ravenglass with a spur up to Boot, Carnforth goes east and up the line through Settle and on
to Carlisle and there is a line from Carlisle over to Newcastle upon Tyne.
All in all it is worth buying the Route as there are many Activities on the CD which allows you to cover most if not all the various paths.
Cheers

Re: Community CD Question
Hi
It's a fictional extension of the Settle Carlisle route,it comes with it's own repainted stock in fictitious Northern Rail Livery, just one thing as it's quite old the stock isn't quite up to the latest MSTS stock standards

Hi,
Just picking up on one point - you don't need to buy a CD to gain premium membership - you can purchase it on its own.

Re: Community CD Question
Hi,thanks for the advice but I think I wiil give this route a miss,i also have been giving thought to the North Wales Coast V2 route but it seems to be a bit pricey these days for a MSTS route. Also I cannot find any information about it such as the route length, activities and stock. So is it actually worth paying £25-20.Any advice would be welcome please.Thanks.Peter.

Re: Community CD Question
Hi Peter,
The NWC2 route is well worth the asking price. It is "donationware" with all profits going to the Class 15 Preservation Society.
To quote :
The DVD contains a large number of activities of all types together with a vast selection of rolling stock, including steam and diesel locos.
It installs as a Mini Route, so is self-contained. I can thoroughly recommend it
Cheers,
Ged

The Chester to Holyhead part of the route is about 85 miles.A highly detailed MSTS addon route from Chester to Holyhead including the Llandudno Branch, the Llandudno Junction to Blaenau Ffestiniog and Trawsfynydd Branch and the freight only branch from Gaerwyn to Amlwch.
With dozens of activities from the 1975 - 1985 era and additional steam activities for those that like steaming along the coast.
