Thanks to our hard working friends we now have a selection of SR EMUs to run. One problem remains however and that is compatibility.
Anything 4 SUB and before could not run with anything 4EPB and later in reality, but we have some sets which will not couple to others due to a peculiar SR EMU coupling code which is added to some engine files.
In order to get the 405 and 415 to run I had to modify the coupling files to those used for the 2HAP but this will now not couple to the 421.
Lets get some common ground on this please!
Couplings on SR EMU Stock.

Southern EMUs
It's sad when somebody who has gone to a lot of trouble giving us trains to run feels that the effort has not been worthwhile due to the 'hastle'. Please don't give up as we do really appreciate your efforts Dave. Little problems will always occur but remember a problem shared is a problem halved.

It was me who removed the SR EMU Coupling part from the eng file in the EPB's
Why you ask?
I did it for my own personnel reasons, so I could couple them to anything such as SR Loco's such as Class 33 and Class 73.
The 4 EPB's worked with the 2 EPB's which are about to be released.
I don't seem to remember them working with the HAP's or SAP's
However it is not hard to replace it if you so wish just copy and paste it from the HAP eng file into the EPB eng file in the correct place.
No need for you to be sorry Ian!
It's all my fault, but easy to fix! if desired.

EPBs and HAPs
I have seen several photos in books of 2HAPs coupled to various other stock including 4EPBs, 4VEP, 4CEP and 4BEP. The number of trains operating in the Southern Region meant that all sorts of combinations were possible and did run. Bear in mind though that the 4SUBs could not MU with anything newer as they only had straight air brakes and not electro-pneumatic ones. The 2 BIL did work with the 'preserved' 4SUB on occasions - you would need to alter the couplings on the 2BIL for this to work on Trainsim.
I've got all the drawings for the Southern stock like 4CORNelsons, 5BEL, 6PUL, 6PAN - any takers?
Not yet got into MSTS stock building - methinks if I do I'll never get anything else done.

totaly true, with the exception of 4sub and the later 508/455 all ex southern emu's could work together, a good example of this would be the bournmouth to stewarts lane, which used to provide all sorts of combinations, they were normally worked by a 4rep, and anything else needed, thats how the 2hap that used to run the brocenhurst to lymington branch used to be changed over.

I do wish you'd reconsider, I know you told me the reasons why but I don't really 100% understand them.
Nothing is set in stone, and nothing was supposed to be 'competition', I did hope you'd like to be involved in the future. And you know how fast I work, the 442 has taken a year so far.
It was only a 'I'm considering' not a definate (It might have even been for commercial projects), now it appears there is little choice if you've scrapped everything.
Please......
