Hi All.
I have just run this one again(the proper one this time) and as before it just crashes but what I cant understand is that all Activities go through the normal testing that is done before they are put in to the Route so why does this one Crash ???

Art,
Is this activity one that came with route or one you download from the library?
At present I can't check anything until my new comes on Tuesday and I reinstalled msts, which should be fun and installed the MEP again

Hi Mike,
This is an activity which comes with the route - DG-Morning Parcels from Cambridge.

As mentioned before, I have it running correctly on one PC, but on my main PC, it crashes, as Art reports (both have the same OS).
I feel that the cause is likely to be something outside of MSTS, and in the next week or so, I intend to completely rebuild my main PC from scratch - well, it has been running 3 years without any "tidying up"!! As well as getting rid of all the junk that's built up, I'll be trying MEP on a very minimal system and hope this act runs successfully. What also makes me think this way is that the CP-Cambridge Buffet Express activity won't even start - it CTD as soon as the briefing screen is cleared!!

Cheers,
Ged

Hi Ged, I thought I would try this Activity out and saved before the First R.P. and again after re-joining the main line, I had no problems
reaching the first R.P. like you came across as I took it relatively easy getting there.
Unfortunately neither of the saves worked correctly after loading and found the train a zero mph despite having plenty of throttle.
The only thing I can do is redo the run without saving and hopefully get to the end.

Hi,

Like Bob I made a save just before the first reverse point but when I reloaded it ran perfectly.
I'm using W7 and AT Radeon HD5700 Graphics card if this is any help.

Because of all the correspondence about this activity, I ran it in Open Rails V1. As far as I could tell it worked perfectly, complete with saves and restores. OR did, however, report problems with a wagon shape:

Information: A virtual wheel axle was added for bogie 1 of D:\Program Files (MSTS)\MiniRoutes\mep1.0\Train Simulator\trains\trainset\MEP-Tipplers\MEP-D183U-Ore.wag

Information: A virtual wheel axle was added for bogie 2 of D:\Program Files (MSTS)\MiniRoutes\mep1.0\Train Simulator\trains\trainset\MEP-Tipplers\MEP-D183U-Ore.wag

Whether these are relevant to MSTS I don't know, I'm not a modeller.

What is a virtual wheel axle?

I've checked the original TSM file and it only has the normal wheel parts used on most of my wagons.
Conbuilder shows no errors and it looks OK in Shape Viewer.

I don't have OR installed but this is the first time I've seen an error repoted for one of my wagons.

It's an information message, not an error. What I believe it's triggered by is that the wagon is a 4 wheeler but has been modelled with 2 single axle bogies. MSTS does not seem to care about this, or if it does, it doesn't say so. The animation logic in OR however, caused the wagon wheels not to follow the rails exactly on a curve. This looked bad. Since there seems to be very many items of rolling stock modelled like this, OR therefore "converts" the bogie to a "virtual axle" so that the wagon does track correctly.
