Re: Do we have these wagons in MSTS?
Fantastic job.
You've even modernised the suspension.
If you send it to me I'll add a Bardic tail lamp.
Any chance of a gas oil version to fuel your diesel repaints?
Here's the label.

Hi David,
I have found 2 places so far Gatwick,Prestwick, possibly Heathrow,I know at one time the AV trains ran down the old Staines branch from West Drayton.
Colas have got the contract in Scotland to haul them between Grangemouth-Prestwick,using class 56 and 66 locomotives.

Re: Do we have these wagons in MSTS?
When I worked them there were 3 Scottish sets of 20 wagons.
One set was loaded at Grangemouth and the other two sets were at being emptied at Prestwick and St Fort (for Leuchars).
At the start of the week an Ayr loco took the Preswick empties to Grangmouth and returned with the loaded set.
Later in the week a Dundee loco went to St Fort and took the empties to Grangemouth and reurning with the now loaded set ex Prestwick.
Later the trains were worked by Motherwell with the loco waiting for the tanks to be discharged.
Most airports had a similar service but the trains were gradually replaced by piplines in the 90s
Aviation fuel was basicaly parafin and the tanks could be used for this if the UN number was changed.

Hi
COLAS Stable their locomotives here at the weekends, Kilwinning Yard in Ayrshire.
The Aviation sidings are still in use at Gatwick I have been able find where they come from EXXON MOBIL(ESSO) refinery at Fawley, found out a bit more about Gatwick Trains EWS DB Schenker hauled\haul the trains

Re: Do we have these wagons in MSTS?
Would Fawley refinery supply the aviation fuel to Gatwick?
Re: Do we have these wagons in MSTS?
Yes Dougie, they certainly did, it was the 1603 Fawley to Salfords worked by Eastleigh men as far as Chichester where we were relived byDougie_1974 wrote:Would Fawley refinery supply the aviation fuel to Gatwick?
Brighton men.
The load was 20 for 936 Tonnes and the poor old crompton (Class 33) had to work flat out to get the train round the tight Adelaide curve at St
Denys.
Happy Days.

P:S I bet Niall will be very pleased with the green tanks when he gets home!

Re: Do we have these wagons in MSTS?
Absolutely love them, you've done some great work, Steve.
Thanks to Ian as well.
However, there is one tiny issue that might cause problems.
The coupling type is 'Chain'. While technically Ian is correct with using 'Chain' settings on the wag files, the vast majority of MSTS stock for the modern era is 'Automatic'. It's like the old Betamax v VHS argument. Technically Betamax was better, but VHS won the battle.
It's easy enough for me to change them for my own use, but I know that if I use them in an act, it will cause problems for other users who are not sure what to do.
Steve, sorry to be a pain but is it possible to upload an additional pack please, identical bar the coupling type?
Niall.
