MEP Editor

Post by cambrian06 »

Hi Guys,

I'm having a problem getting the activity editor to work with MEP. With everything unstored from mini loader the editor will open, I can select the route in the drop down menu then when I select new activity nothing else happens. I've tried walking away from it for 20 minutes in case it needed extra time to load but nothing.
With just one activity selected in mini loader the track diagram loads but nothing else, no services, paths, rolling stock etc.
I'm fairly confident that this is not a resources issue as my main MSTS installation with everything unstored from Trainstore (49 routes including all of the biggies like Dorset Coast & Thames Mersey etc) will load into the editor in under a minute.
Any ideas?

Regards,

Andy.

Hi Andy, Mike.

Have you tried the old chestnut re the 32bit to 16bit change resolution especially with Win 7.

Try changing your desktop to 16bit colours and see if that helps.

Cheers

Its unlikely the editor will open with everything unstored. MSTS will be overwhelmed.

You need to select two or three activities with stock you might like to use and activate them. Then open the editor.

You can also manually activate consists you might want to use by changing the xxxx.off to xxxx.con.

Don't forget there are loads of unused consists available in the unused folder.

When you test your efforts and open the the sim everything will go back to xxxx.off when you finish the activity test. The version of Mini_Loader supplied with the route is not the latest. You could try installing the update version which has a tick box allowing activated activities to remain open until you store them. Otherwise you will have to keep fiddling with the xxxx.off or reactivating the desired activities before going into AE.

When you open AE for the first time there will be too many items ticked. Untick most things before trying to rescale and move the map.

I loaded each activity in turn and packaged it.

When done I unstored everything and moved the act files into a SpareActs folder.
Then I use Route Riter to move the unused other activity files.
I now have an empty Train Simulator.

I can unpack an activity and run it. When I'm done I just delete the activity files.

All my routes are done this way so the editor always loads instantly.
