Hi Folks

I have been using AA with windows 7 Pro 32 bit without any problems, All of a sudden I go to check an activity and I get the following message, Run-time error 6 overflow. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but get the same message. I have everything related to MSTS installed outside of Program files. If anybody else has had this problem would you kindly pass on to me how you resolved the problem. All help and advice greatly appreciated.

Best Regards Arthur

Hi Folks

Just an update. I contacted Microsoft Tech Support in Bangkok yesterday and they asked for a screen shot so I sent them one. As I anticipated they came back and said this is not a Microsoft software problem caontact the Authors, I have used this software for 7 years without problem. What I have done is to remove some stock from the trainset folder that I new was not needed, Yes it now works OK.

I did an internet search for this problem and all you get is a lot of Use This to fix Run-Time error 6 Overflow. All commercial software and I feel it is not worth buying.

I though Microsoft was the authors?! Or are they bluffing as they probably don't want to support this anymore and/or just have no idea what the problem is?

What you probably need is a program called TrainStore. In a nutshell, this moves all the trains that you don't need and keeps the ones you do need for an activity. When you try a different activity needing different train, it automatically unstore's those trains and stores the other ones.

Having too much stock causes issues in MSTS which is probably what you experienced.

P.S I see your from Thailand, can't wait to visit Thailand in November :)

Hello Tubemad

Microsoft are not the authors of Activity Analysis as this was produced by Ernst Tollknaepper from Herman Railroads. The problem I had was with AA not Windows.
I am originally from the UK and have lived here in Thailand for more than 20 years. The area that we live is a nice quiet farming village in the North east of Thailand.

Hi

I think I encountered this a few years back. I suggest you do a disk check and then resolve any illegal characters in the file names in your train folder.
