Crewe to Liverpool, installation issues!

Hi, I am pretty much brand new to the whole TrainSim thing, coming from spending a little while getting accustomed to Flight Simulator X, but it intrigued me that people have made routes near to my house which can be quite fun to drive so I've been giving it a whirl this past week. Looks like a great community here too. :)

I downloaded the Crewe to Liverpool route V1, and installed the following files:

UKTS_6099_Mersey1.zip
UKTS_6079_Mersey2.zip
UKTS_6080_Mersey3.zip
UKTS_6083_Mersey4.zip
UKTS_6066_Mersey_Paths.zip

Extracted to the MSTS directory and ran the Installme.bat - works perfect! I don't even get the white-out problem, though maybe that's because I started at Lime Street.

Second, I wanted the update, so I grabbed these files and extracted them in order.

UKTS_6855_Mersey21.zip
UKTS_6859_Mersey22.zip
UKTS_6857_Mersey23.zip
UKTS_6853_Mersey24.zip

The readme2.0 included tells me I don't need any path files as they're included in this update, but the route is rendered unplayable (and unloadable) after applying these files.

I noticed they have some filename clashes, and I'm wondering if perhaps human error has occured somewhere along the way (of mine) causing me to extract them in the wrong order. :P Whenever I try to load the route, I'm told that the Service is using an invalid platform, and that 'both track items are invalid'.

I did run the Install2.0.bat file after I extracted these files, but I'm wondering if I've missed something important?

I couldn't find the correct Trainset file on here to complement the included consist, so I had to create a new one with the same name using another Merseyrail 508 EMU I found on the download library. At least that seemed to solve the issue I had with failure to 'read train database file'.

Any help appreciated, I would really like to apply the update!

Hi
If you put your question on the beginners page of the MSTS part of the forum you will get more people reading it,also when you are new to MSTS the best advice is to buy a community disc as you get every thing included the Route,The Stock and Activities.

There is a Thames- Mersey Disc which is more up to date than the Route you are having trouble with,it also has Liverpool Docks.

The disc goes from Euston via Crewe to Liverpool Lime Street, and a £4.80 p is good value for money as you get a months premium membership thrown in which is worth £3.00 alone.
Unfortunately I can't help you as I have the disc version of this route
