Astra TV advert

Post by TOMMO79 »

This has had me puzzled for a while, theres an advert on tv with 3 silver astras driving up and down ramps, over bridges etc: In one scene the cars cross a concrete viaduct which appears to have 25kv overhead line equipment. Does anyone have any info on this or could I be halucinating :P I'm assuming it was either done by computer or filmed on a railway under constrution, thought it could be the CTRL

I've seen that commercial a few times on the TV.

I'm mythed if it is the CTRL or one of the LGV routes.

Mind you there are two Astra commercials on the TV but you've put this one into detail

I haven't seen the advert, but it could well be CGI.

Most of the high-end adverts use a large proportion of CGI and heavy post.

You'd need quite high-end CGI input to make an Astra look like a proper car - it's the class 158 of the roads...

Good Advert shame about the car,

Maybe if they called it something different I would not hate it as much!

I know you only see it breifly but the OLE is very prominent, I suppose only anyone who knows a bit about railways would notice. Does anyone remember the GNER publicity photos of a class 91's with the OLE airbrushed out? think it was in the back of Rail magazine a few years back.

So now we have electric trains that run on fresh air and cars that need overhead wires??? :-?

Your sig, is it supposed to be any particular model? The rear lights stink of Megane, other than that, anybodies guess :).
