No-CD fix

Thanks for the replies lads. Firstly a correction, it is v.1.2, my apologies.
It's a legal copy from GAME store, hence £35. Expensive pirate treasure!!!!
When you launch it, it asks for the "correct" CD before it will run. I'm sure other people have come across this or am I the only bloke in England who has this package? It's the one with the new add-ons: Class 50 and the other yank train plus new activities.
Putting a blank disk in the drive doesn't really solve anything as I may as well just put the MSTS disk in.
The whole point is NOT needing to put ANY disks in the drive at all just as in the origional MSTS. That's what the patch is for but unfortunately the provider doesn't leave any instructions.
Never mind lads, thanks anyway.

Thanks for raising this issue, I was totally unaware of why RE was requesting a cd, and I am using V1.1 upgraded to V1.2.

See your other thread for how I seem to have accidentally stopped this happening.

Having any CD in rather than the MS one is a step in the right direction. Now I can listen to music while RE eats my route. Or leave my daughters Harry Potter CD in while I drive trains. ;)

I got into a situation like this the other day.

I had one of the msts cd's in the drive when I started RE.

I removed the cdrom because it was slowing the system (continually speeding it up to read and then slowing). I closed RE but not windows and did something else for a moment, then when I tried to open RE again it refused to start without the cdrom..

The only way to clear it was to restart windows.

I dont think it was looking for the msts cd in particular but remembered that the cdrom drive had been valid last time and expected it to be this time..

Well Mrs F sometimes leaves her Stronghold Crusader CD in the DVD drive, I sometimes leave Neverwinter Nights in there and it doesn't ask for a CD then.

Shshshshsh though... whenever I've been "asked" for the CD, I get the options 'Try Again', 'Cancel' and 'Continue'. With no CD in the drive just selecting Continue takes me in to do whatever I want.

Sorry about the flippant reply in your last thread... Just try posting this on t-s.com forums though and see what they call you!. ;)
