LOL! No... but I have hobbies too you know. I may not know much about railways, but I do have a fair old smattering of useless information in various other arcane subjects. Napoleonic sea-faring and the second world war amongst them.

I couldn't have put it better myself. But is that sailing ships or WW2 you're into? How about Formula 1 racing? Paganism?... errr... perhaps not that one... ;) Folk traditions?

By the way, your avatar is available again. There is a post for you somewhere in this forum that has it linked, all you need to do is copy it to your AtomIC Photo Album and then link to it there, that's how mine works.

I stand corrected!!!

By the way, I didn't realise Napolean was involved in WWII.

Didn't you know that Hitler thought he was Napoleon - you know take control of France, have an eagle as your symbol, invade Russia and stuff like that?

johny wrote:I have upgraded to V1.2 (downloaded files) and was getting the request for a cd but only with RE, a couple of times each time a route was selected.

To speed up the system, I have within the last few days set up XP to run with the standard Windows layout (via Control panel, System, Advanced, Performance, Settings, Visual Effects, and check Adjust for best performance). Ever since, that request for the cd has not appeared.

That theory has just flown out through the window, the b****y request is back again. One possible solution is to copy the trains and consists etc for the update to a temporary folder, uninstall both the updates from the Add/Remove in Control Panel, and copy the update files back to their correct locations in MSTS.

Copied the folders Europe1, USA2, and Trains to a temporary folder. Uninstalled the two updates using Conrol Panel, Add/Remove, checked MSTS, no requests for cd. Copied the three folders from the temporary folder back to MSTS overwriting the existing folders.

Checked that MSTS operated correctly with the updated consists and activities, AOK. Checked RE and it loaded without any requests for a cd.
