I wish to publicly thank Simon (expressboy1983) and James (tubemad) for their help, their very detailed technical and visual information and the data that they shared with me during the creation of this extension. For the things that are not quite right, I accept full responsibility!

Enjoy.
Chris

EDIT from Chris - Saturday 5th January 2013
The route files have been resubmitted for approval.

If someone is installing the complete route using the three files and gets an error message that says

File is corrupt or unreadable
Textures\Night\StoneGreyWall.ace

this will indicate that the three files have not been renamed to the same prefix BrisCard. This spanned installer needs the three files to have exactly the same prefix for the installer to work properly.

Regards,
Chris

Now that is a nice surprise Chris :-)

I don't suppose you've ever thought about heading North to Cheltenham? 3 lines I think from Severn Tunnel Jn, Bristol & Swindon.

Nice!

Is it to be added to existing route or will these uploads have the entire route in it?

Always the way with Chris. I think it works far better than the constant posting that goes on for some projects. It is ready when it is ready in the eyes of the author and then it arrives.

If you look back the initial release was very much the same - nothing in advance and then a very pleasant surprise.

Hi Niall,

Both. The first file will change anybody's existing route from V5 or V5.1 to V6. The other three files make up a three part self installer for the complete route up to and including V6. That is why I have removed V5 from the library.

Regards,
Chris

Cheers. Look forward to it.

I think you know what I was referring to and that is not the proven producers of routes etc. Nothing wrong with the likes of the MEP and NWE teams posting updates as they grind their way slowly to the end result. Both will be worth it in the long run.

However, we have all seen the other side of the coin where the enthusiastic thread that somebody will create xyz which gets a good reception. So then an offsite forum appears and a Facebook page and a blog. The forum is basically a few people talking to themselves. Likewise the Facebook page. All of which sucks up development time. A few screenshots appear and then nothing.

Danny

Please don't, despite my own not dissimilar comments a short while ago. Personally I like to see how things are developing on the current batch of routes, including your own. Should you decide to upload I will be only too pleased, especially if I can run some of my repainted SR DEMUs. Of course the surprise packages such as BrisCard V6 - must try some of the available acts for the earlier version via my Mini Route - are always most welcome!

Alec

PS I shall continue to bore the pants off everyone with the reports on the progress - or lack thereof - of my personal FG DMU project through the "WHAT ARE OTHER SIMMERS . . ." thread, although the "snoring" sounds suggest that no one is asking for release dates! :o :o

To add to Danny's and Rufus' posts, I had wondered if that comment had been aimed at myself, seeing that I had posted in the thread beforehand and when I am working on the route, I'm always updating progress...

Back to main topic and I'm really looking forward to this route.

Hi
Not sure who it was aimed at really. ????????????????.
Facebook, blogs, what planet do you live on ? Not Mine.
Is posting updates of routes or screengrabs such a probem ?
Every post i see has interesting shots of routes in progress and i like looking at them.
It is the route builders choice whether they post updates, or not. If a route builder wants to keep his route a secret, fair enough, but why knock the others who are more open and sharing.

Sitting round a table in a pub with a glass in front of you gives you the opportunity to put the world to rights and then go home feeling better for it.

Despite this thread being about BrisCard, it took the usual tangential turn with conspriacy theories in abundance.

This statement was clearly overlooked -
I think you know what I was referring to and that is not the proven producers of routes etc
Rather than answer every conspiracy theory I'll take Clives and answer the points -
casperdog wrote:Hi

As the statement above says "it is not aimed at proven producers".
It IS aimed at vapourware producers.
Those that create threads "I am building this route", post a few screenshots and then disappear.

If you live on an ideal planet called Planet MSTS then the other alternatives will be alien to you.
Admins and Moderators have to venture to Planet TS2013 and those alternatives are in abundance.

Not at all.
casperdog wrote: Every post i see has interesting shots of routes in progress and i like looking at them.
And always welcome and great to see.

It is the route builders choice and NOBODY is knocking them.

Back on TOPIC

BrisCard V6 is temporarily on hold because of missing track pieces that are NOT in the default installation OR in the XTracks 3.20 installation.
I am already in communication with Chris, the route author on this matter.

Thanks for the update Peter.

I am sure that everyone here appreciates the work that you do to ensure that all downloads work as they should "out of the box".
