Latest news from Chris the route author.

He is going to remove the two rogue track sections that have been used: A1t0_2mStrt and A1t3_5mStrt and replace them with Dynamic track.
His message states that it should only take a couple of days.

It will be worth the wait. Thank you for your patience.

Thanks for the info Peter, :)

I have those two shapes in my global shapes folder, couldn't tell you where they came from though :-? They may have come from Y-Tracks or Z-Tracks or any of the other odd track packs I have downloaded over the years to run both US and European routes that require them.
Regards
Mark.

That is the problem Mark. Neither Peter or myself have those track sections despite having a vast collection of routes between us.

I suspect Y-Tracks or one of the French routes has put them in people's global folders.
Kindest regards

I have lots of Richard Garcia's (Agedormi) routes, a prolific route builder of excellent French routes for MSTS, (posts under the name of "ortial" on here) many of his routes require Y-tracks and/or Z-tracks to run, that's quite possibly where I got the shapes from, either that or his huge global folder download that he hosted on his Agedormi site.

Hi John, I downloaded and installed the italian version of the Leeds to Carlisle Route and
that needed the first File, by doing a search on the internet I got it along with the second
one from a european trainsim site.
The above Route is mentioned on this forum and has a load of posts about it but is now
a locked topic.

It was hard keeping it a secret, but we managed :)

I've been helping with both Westbury routes, Chris's and Craig's Wessex route .

I would however like to thank Chris for making a better version of the DBS office at Westbury using the photos I had. I did have one made but I must say Chris made it better!

I'm already planning some acts, probably the first though will be an extension of the Regional Railways act that I did between Weymouth and Bristol. Rather than starting the Briscard part at Bathampton I will now start it at the beginning of the extension wherever that turns out to be.

Long live MSTS. I can't leave it alone at the moment.

Cheers

Trackwork issues resolved, route now released.

Note the 2 varients. The FULL route in 3 files and the Update for V5/V5.1 to V6 in a single file.

Thanks Chris, another great update to the route.

Those who download the FULL route, please remember to rename the 3 files by removing the UKTS File IDs BEFORE running the exe file.
See Chris's comment in the original post.

After a few errors (my fault, extra files I hadn't installed), finally got the route working and I have to say, very impressed.

Some of the countryside scenery (which I personally find difficult to do) is simply superb. As this is a route I don't know that well in real life, I'll stick to playing other people's activities rather than write my own, so start getting them sorted, please!

Congratulations, Chris. :D

Hi

After reading the instructions RE: the TSection.dat I created a mini-route with Route Riter and installed the route into there using TSection 38 instead of the latest version that I have set as default in my main MSTS folder.

When I came to run it, it crashed the sim, (no error message) Checked it with route riter and it came back with no errors, after a load of fiddling around with no joy, I copied it into my main MSTS folder and ran it via TSection 42 and it ran perfectly :o

Does anyone know why it shouldn't be run with the latest TSection?

I ran the new section from Westbury then carried on to Bristol, It is very impressive :D

Mark

As long as you are using the UK Version of 42 then there should be no problem.

However, if you are using the US version then it will crash, changes were made in tsection 42 that screwed up certain UK points.
We revised the US tsection 42 to remove those updates and released it as tsection 42UK.
