The moderators do not control the file library or approvals so asking for a moderator to comment is not going to get you the answer you want. An email to the support desk might yield a reply but again not necessarily the one you are wanting.

Once stuff is in the library then it is down to the author to remove it. The site admin only removes it on proven complaints regarding copyright etc.
Kindest regards

Andy,

I'm not speaking as a Moderator, as I'm not sure what power you think the Moderators hold over this issue. I'm speaking as a general user (having been involved to some extent with BATS when it existed).

The "legal" side of things is very clear. The conditions for being allowed to reskin BATS stock were that the reskins could only be hosted on the BATS site, after being checked and processed by BATS members. So, even if Danny did hold the copyright (which I'm not sure about), he can't upload a reskin anywhere else.

I have all of the reskins because I tested many of them before they were uploaded. I would love to share them with others but I cannot. That's not just a "legal" cannot but also a "moral" cannot. I got to know the BATS guys (in a "virtual" sort of way) over the time I worked with them, and I will not go against their wishes.

I really think this issue has run its course and should be allowed to fade into history.

The reason the activities are still there is because other people who might want to run them are prepared to change items of stock which are now unavailable.

I know I'm prepared to, you will find lots of old activities will have the same problem, the best thing to do is down load activities which are less than 2 years if you are not prepared to replace missing item, but even then there is no guarantee they will not have stock that is no longer available in them or are aliased to commercial items.

A lot of diesels need MT Scottish Central or Great Eastern for sounds and cabs.

Thanks for the reply guys. Not the reply I was looking for, but I guess I will have some fun swapping stock in these acts. I am sure there are others. I didn't realise there was such a Stringent measure. But enough of me 'Arking' on about this. I just wish there was an alternative to Croydon....
To Bob, I didn't expect the Mod's to get involved to this extent and I apologise.
To Mike, I will change the stock, I may even put a Merchant Navy in its place, I was only hoping that maybe a solution could be found in running the Act in all purposes it was created for. That's all. A shame that Croydon's Weathered look with the Graffiti on the Smokebox door cannot be substituted though, looks good in the pic.

Thanks all and apologies once again

Best Wishes

Well I don't know the specific models in question but most of the BATS reskins (not all) are over on the Trainsim.com web site and nobody has asked for them to be removed. I cannot see why anybody would either.

Typing "blue arrow" in the Trainsim.com search facility comes up with 57 hits for World Steam Locos

Alec

PS To be honest I'm not sure that I've downloaded all the relevant items! It can also be seen that Trainsim.com have also revised their website - quite like the new one. I wonder if the proposed new UKTS site will be inaugurated soon?

Although that's way off topic I'll take this opportunity to report that Nels did that to the Flightsim.com web site first and it's been a disaster IMO. There were howls of protest from many FS users too as features, facilities and functionality were lost and the (IMO) sane sector of the community asked how this "old style" format was a step forward? I posted at the time that I hoped that Nels would leave TS.com as it was but he's done the same thing there and exactly the same complaints are being posted there now too. How on Earth is squeezing a web site into a narrow strip leaving vast areas of blank screen either side of you monitor a step forward? UKTS's "one size fits all aspect ratio's" site is excellent and reverting to simpler "pre widescreen" site design has to be going backwards? Reviews that used to be scollable now have to be paged through and they're squashed into a tiny space with any amount of irrelevant material crammed into this stupid narrow strip. What Nels has done to those two web sites is truly awful. Who and what is this for? Sims only run well on top end computers so most who are interested have them. Even those who don't will find buying a new computer of ANY spec without a widescreen monitor almost impossible nowadays. That leaves tablets and smart( )phones..... which are about as much use as breasts to a chicken for simulators! So what is the point? "If it ain't broke, DON'T fix it!"

Croydon's Weathered look with the Graffiti on the Smokebox door
Andy, try UKTS 22158 - this has a similar look and should do nicely. :D

Hi
Just had a look on the trainsim site and none of the BATS Southern Region reskins are there, most are Seven Valley Railway reskins.
