File Library

Post by GilbertsFridge »

There are some files in the download library that have no file extension. For example, the GNER Express 225, file ID: 3862 has nothing to identify it, it is simply called GNER. There are others, such as the Post Office HST et al, but I don't have a definitive list.

Is my computer missing a vital component or is there something wrong with the server?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Regards

I think these may be .exe files (installers) as opposed to .zip files. Just a guess though

I tried that, renaming the file to .exe, but the system then asks for something to open it with. The file size matches the description but they niether .exe nor .zip, they have no extension at all.

It very odd.

You probably dont have show extensions ticked.

Try just double clicking on the file - If that does not work you have done something to the file properties in windows

I will scan my list, I have already found a few .Jpg file's rather than the actual file it should have. :)

Yes, every download ever made from the system since it went online is recorded in the database, so the rewrite will include things like "who downloaded this" "graphs of downloads" "what did I download" and so forth.

You can never have too many stats!!! I still miss the old Post Count on the Member List  - I'm not in the top ten any more!

I actually have a spreadsheet which I update every now and again from the 'View My Uploads' screen (and similar on t*s*.com and msts.nl) - thats how I know that you've had more Gigabytes of Woodhead V2 downloaded off UKTS in 6 days than Woodhead V1.0 & V1.1 together in 1 year!
