Hi!
I have downloaded and installed the V3beta version of the Glasgow-Carlisle, and the activities related ( at least the ones not needing commercial extension I don't own).
Now is installing and using V2 activities with the V3 route a good idea, meaning they are directly useable, or a good and fast way to ruin everything?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Some of the paths may be broken where mods have been at made join points but , on the whole, most of them should be made workable with a few tweaks in the activity editor.

I believe a number of the old V2 activities have been updated and uploaded for the V3 route.

I'm reasonably certain that only those activities updated will work.
I seem to recall when testing that Niall advised that all v2 activities be removed from the routes folder as the route had "moved".

DO NOT use V2 acts with V3. ALL the paths will be broken as the route was 'moved'. Only use those acts uploaded for V3.
It is in mentioned in the route documentation.
I updated most of my V2 acts for V3 and still have plans to do the rest but a number of V2 acts remain because I could not contact the authors to see if they would update them or delete them.

What happened was when the original author first extended the route for what became V3, the bin patch was not about, so he decided to move the whole route to avoid the whiteout bug. Therefore none of the v2 paths will work because the route isn't in the same place anymore!LionelMarco wrote:Thanks for your answers: Now I know , and won't do anything stupid...

Hope you enjoy the route, Lionel, and if you do, keep an eye on the forums for news on V4. It's progressing slowly at the moment, but I'm sure the wait will be worth it.
