And it was pleasantly surprising inthat it wasn't bad at all! Quite amusing and some interesting clips - the Deltic firing up for one!

Missed the Program.
But I have been stood at the side of a Deltic when it was fired up at Barrow Hill last Year. Sorry the Year before.
The only thing not shaking was erm. erm. Well everything was shaking.
Scared the living Daylight's out of my Nephew. He's loved them ever since.

Kid's! That's him in my Avatar.

Picture took on the same day.

Also, I've not seen this mentioned on any other posts but apologies if it has, Motors TV has started showing a programme called Decades of Steam.
As far as I know, there's only been one episode so far that covered the 1920's. According to their website (
http://www.motorstv.com) it's being shown again on Wed 5 Feb at 5.00pm.
Motors TV is on channel 416 on Sky Digital but I've no idea if, or where, it appears on any other service (NTL etc.).

Does anyone remember the program called Steam Day's, from the 80's.
I can remember sitting there glued to the telly, as a kid.
I was about 5 . 1985. era I think.

I asked them to let me know when it was on - what great customer relations. I star in an episode too
Missed it as well. Just checked up and it appears it's on each Saturday.
Anyone who saw it: Did they show an episode about the London Underground? Did I miss my oscar-nominated performance? Was I left on the cutting-room floor? Or haven't they shown this one yet?
My boss is none too happy either as he wanted to know - having let them film at our control centre in the first place!

When I was abut 4 or 5 there was a series which was on every day this week called Railwatch. This was back in 1987 / 1988 during the week the Intercity 225 was released at Bounds Green.
Anyone remember it?

Yep, not a bad series that - about 13/14 at the time.
Things kept going wrong for BR if I remember rightly. Even the named 'railwatch' HST failed one day! he he
I might have it on video somewhere. They did a behind the scenes week in the York/Doncaster/Leeds area for those that didn't see it. I think on one of the days they were in the cab of an HST from Grantham - Doncaster and also in Doncaster PSB at the same time.

I thought they were in the HST cab from Kings Cross to Leeds?
They had something in a 4CIG too from Eastbourne to London Victoria driven by a lady driver.
NRM and yes Doncaster PSB.
They had something about the electrification of the ECML too.

So, any chance (as the thread is about this particular programme) of knowing what we missed (i.e. anything related to my earlier post?)
If I've missed "the one" it's not so much a case of me being big-headed (well not totally) but more a case of how will I ever get my mates to believe I was once going to be a T.V. "star" (albeit for just 2 minutes on Discovery.)
When they filmed "my bit" they said it would be a series of half-hour programmes. Are they showing 2 at a time or have they made them into hour-long shows based around one particular area/railway etc.
Any info (those of you lucky enough not to have missed it) ?

Two half hour shows shown consecutively. Items on Cambrian coast, Llangollen, Festiniog, Deltics, TPO's, mechanical signal boxes. Almost fell into the trap of doing too many subjects not deeply enough but just about got the balance right.
Whilst channel hoping caught a program narrated by John Peel about suburbam railways. Good bit on the Metropolitan and Fenchurch Street-Southend. If anybody knows when the next one is on could they give us all a shout.
