A Big Thank You!

I would just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all those who are still making things for MSTS.
Mickrick (Michael Young) for some great locos.
Dee4141 (Danny Gilbert) again for some great locos.
refman ( Reg Furniss) for some nice scenery items.
docmartin ( Martin K Phillips) for his brilliant vehicles and other objects.
ianmacmillan ( Ian Macmillan) for his wonderful wagons.
emufarmer ( Frank Carver) for his many different objects.
glasgowworks (Allistair Cowell) for his Glasgow Trams & other modern image locos.
Captainbazza ( BR Munro) for his brilliant ships.
fredrikljundberg (Fred Carter) for his buses and other transport models)
casperdog (Clive Heard) for his models.
Mendes (Martin Pope) for his models.
Dave Robinson for his brilliant coaching stock specially made for the SCP.
And many many more people involved in Route building and activity creating. Without you. MSTS would have died many months ago. Of course, most of the community has gone over to the Dark Side, as Don and I have termed Railworks, and some of you still dable with MSTS. But for those of us who are still involved with MSTS, it is you that is keeping this nine year old sim still enjoyable. So you all deserve a very big thank you. There are some great routes still in the making and still lots to look forward to. Long Live MSTS!

Hi steamnut44,
Hear, hear!!
To those of us who haven't an artistic cell in our bodies, the members you have mentioned are a Godsend. And, of course, I'm sure there are many others who deserve our thanks.
I, too, have dipped my toe in the Dark Side, but....
Long Live MSTS!
Not forgetting OpenRails
Cheers,
Ged

All I can say is they must be well off. I recon my msts trainset folder in railworks would cost about £2 grand!

I too would echo all that has been said, especially as it is about the time I would normally ditto my monthly remarks in "Feedback and Thanks".
If like others I could master model creation there are one or two items I would like to add to the vast array of stock available to MSTS. Also like others I couldn't afford to change over even If I wanted to, as there are only some 29 months before I retire - the problems associated with that are not to be visited here!
I believe there are still items of stock and routes not yet in MSTS - my own particular desire is for a Class 302 - and hence there is life still to be extracted from MSTS.
BUT of course the point of this thread is to say thank you and it is to be hoped that like myself to hear someone say thank you is a great fillip.
Thanks, Alec

I believe there is a lot of mileage in MSTS yet - at least until it's overtaken by OR. Bedford-Hitchin has had over 1500 downloads, I've just tried Clive's S&D which is brilliant, the screenshots for SCP have shown that it's going to be a great route with new stock - and trams too, and then MEP - which is really special - is not far from completion either. Not bad for an old sim.

I agree with Geoff's message, and I'm grateful to everyone that makes their contribution.

There is a class 302 from MT GE or do you mean a class 307?

Oh dear - can't blame it on the 2 being next to the 7! This reminds me to watch Terry Pratchett's forthcoming program on Alzheimers, etc.
I did and do mean the 307!

Ah yes Geoff, but will you be able to resist the Dark Side when the Blackpool Tramway route myself and Mike Whiteley are producing goes live?!
(Obi Wan voice)... "MSTS is not the sim you're looking for..."
Actually I have been enjoying something of a driving renaissance in MSTS myself, having discovered many of the excellent Australian routes out there also some of the contributions from Europe such as Northern and Southern Denmark.

I'm afraid I might resist the dark Side Vern, as I just can't fathom out the workings of it, which frustrates me, so I'm afraid I will be sticking with MSTS. And I can't afford all the payware stuff for it anyway. Poor old pensioner now!

Same here, I was toying with the idea of trying out RW2 when it was on offer, but the cost of upgrades are prohibitive, and from what I've seen of the free routes etc, many of them seem to require the assets from payware routes to function.
I did buy the original railsimulator when it came out, but when I installed the official upgrade it refused to work, so I gave up on it and went back to MSTS and to a lesser extent Trainz, but I stopped buying the endless trainz upgrade editions after TS 2009.
So with the excellent content that is being released for MSTS such as the superb S&D route and the up and coming Scottish and MEP routes, which from the screenshots look equally as good, I'll stick with MSTS for the time being, so Thanks to all the people beavering away to bring us this excellent new content.

Shouldn't this say routes too.
Thanks also have to go to Charles (charles9malcolm) for his stunning Bedford Hitchin line and for allowing me to test it. And of course to Rick (rickloader) for creating (and again allowing me to test) what will probably always be my favourite route, the New Forest.
