Hello all,

Just wondering does anyone have the ELR add-on CD? I am just wondering if it is worth the £17? Looks like a descent set of locos involved with custom sounds included, are the Class 37 sounds new or are they Richard Armstrong ones?

Does this route also include the 'ski ramp' by any chance too?

Anyone know if the steamers have a descent sound and cab view to boot too?

You will not be disappointed with the ELR add on I can assure you
From memory the steamers do have authentic cabviews and sounds
The route is highly detailed with custom buildings and is an accurate representation

Yes, I do have the ELR addon, Had it some time now, and I use the sound files especially the 37s for ALL my class 37 fleet as well as the 31s 47s,24s and steam locos.
The route runs from a "Fully signalled" Rawtenstall right through to the BR Junctions at Castleton, beyond Heywood so in answer to your question "Does this route also include the 'ski ramp' by any chance too?" It is a 10MPH departure from Bury Bolton street falling gradient on a sharp left hand curve, then a sharp climbe over the Manchester-Bury tram route (These are
A1 models incidently.) then down the other side before climbing to Heywood.
Diesels are 01 11506, 24 D5054, D5600 D7076 37087,40135 40145 D832 47402 D1041, Also a pair of class 504 Bury units with a blue clas 25 sandwiched inbetween.
Steam is 32 "Gothenburg"46441, 76079,45407 5690 Leander, 92207 7229 42765 and 71000. As I say I use these Locos for default cab and sound files for most of my stuff.
There are plenty of activities for both Steam and Diesel.
I also have Westerns Warships and Diesels, class 45 Peak power, Class 40s in blue and North wales coast.
I highly recomend the ELR Route.

Nice to hear the Ski ramp is in!

I have the ELR diesel gala add-on CD which I used for the sounds mainly, but by the sounds of it, getting the CD would be a top idea, then I can run the EWS gala too!

I take it the 31/37 sounds are different to the UKTS ones then?

James, if I recall correctly, all the ELR soundsets are/were exclusive. The 24/25/40/45/47 etc soundsets have been superceded by the North Wales Coast versions that are vastly superior however both packs are well worth picking up for the soundsets alone as well as a corking pair of routes.

Hi James,

When I got the ELR disc I supplemented the rolling stock with the C15PS 'Classic Traction', which contained some good stock and additional activities. The stock from these discs can obviously be used on other routes and for running 'specials' which they have been featured on. All of the C15PS packs have activities for the ELR route, and most of them have activities for a variety of other routes. These packs have been put together with some thought and attention to detail and still contain models and skins which are not really available elsewhere.

Just an update, I have the CD (I did post I had a problem but works now after 12 attempts to install it) and took the route for a spin. Didn't have too much time in the end but I tried the GWR loco (don't know what type sorry) which had the dodgy cab view and sounds that cut out at random intervals when powering, but anyway I got stuck at a red south of Ramsbottom that wouldn't clear so I quit. I loaded the diesel gala turn 3 part 2 act, and my, some meaty shredder sounds!!

I did get a bit too big for my shoes, when smartypants here decided that I would 'play to the crowd' by crawling up to the ski jump at 5mph then hammer the handle back. If you ever think of trying the same idea then don't I was wheel slipping and couldn't pull the handle back at any more than 25% or she'd slip but in the end I got stuck near the top and rolled back.

I stopped at the signal before the ramp, worked up through the notches when past 7mph and charged like a bat outta hell on full power to do the jump, hellfire


I did think there might be different 37 sounds but these appear to be the ones later used in GE etc. Could do with a 37/4 refurbished engine soundset....much better.

Going to put the Classic Diesels on this, sounds like I'll be having a whale of a time, and will be able to see the rest of the route!

Theres quite a few reskins on here with auto installers to give you greater variety, and make the cobo drivable etc.
