Class 52 cab

Post by Tonysmedley »

Is there a reasonably representative working cab view for class 52 "Western" locos?

Tony,

If you've got the Paddington-Penzance CD you can use the cabs from the 52's in it otherwise the only other correct cabs are in the ELR Deisel Hydrulic Pack,it also has the Warships and Hymeks as well in it,most of the Hydrulics in the libery use them.

Hi Tony
If you mean by 'working' animated , then this one is of no use.

Click to view more informationBR Class 52 D1015 in 2008 condition [4526235 bytes] - D1015_JB.zip
File ID: 21766 Date: 10 Aug 2009 - 500 Downloads

However it is driveable, for those without the Class 52 cabview.

Cheers

I downloaded the V200, the German equivalent of the Western class, from the German MSTS site and it had quite a good cab view.
However, when I transferred it to the Western, and amended the Western eng file, the Forward/ Reverse and the throttle control did not work, although the cab itself was excellent - if you could accept a speedometer in Kph and some very small German wording on some instruments. It is also right hand drive.

Hello Tony.

The V200 or DB 220/221 were actually The forerunner of the warship class.
This may be of help to you from the CD ordering page

Paddington to Penzance 2.5
A re-release of Derick Joy and Dave Pascoe's fantastic Paddington to Penzance route, the route is unchanged (other than very minor scenery replacements), but there is a new stock pack, including some of Chris Baily's Westerns, Warships and Hymeks! £4.80 (edit: plus a months extra premium membership) :P
I have the original Westerns Warships and Hymek CD which comes with authentic Cabviews and sound files.

Cheers

Hi Tony,

You can get the complete set of Westerns from this site price £12.00 http://www.westernchampion.co.uk/Micros ... ulator.htm
There by Chris Bailey who did the original Western Cabview,or get the Padington to Penzance cd especialy if you plan to use either the Warships or Hymeks because you can use the cabviews from those in this set.

I seem to recall the Severn Valley route has a Western Cab, too.

Thank you! I had not restored Severn Valley after having to carry out a major re-ordering of my PC. There is quite a good cab with two Western locos on the route.
