Using downloaded files

Can anyone assist with a problem I have with MSTS, in particular using downloaded locos. My problem is that they appear in the correct file location alongside the pre loaded locos on my 'C' drive but they do not appear in my selectable list one the MSTS is running.

u need to create consists using a program called conbuilder
availible via UK Trainsim

A consist appears in MSTS so u can use the loco

Have you made a consist icluding the engine in the activty editor?
If not, either use the activity editor or conbuilder ( a downloadable program ) to make one. I cannot explain how you use it ( I'm not very good at that ), but in the NEWBIES Forum, there's bound to be an explanation.

Hi
When you download rolling stock,most do not come with a consist file.So you have to create one.Either using the activity editor,or download con builder (available on this site)which enables you to do allsorts with your rolling stock without having to go into msts at all(thankfully)

Thanks for the replies.

As you might have guessed I only got the MSTS the other day for Xmas so I am a bit 'green'. I realise now that I should have used the Newbies Forum also but since I have started here can you tell me where to get the conbilder / consist from and what to do with it when I get it ?
