Hi Richard,

Well, have just completed the 2nd act by going a little under the line speed at Forest Gate, but still no luck with the 1st act. Unless I am allocating the RAM switching method wrongly. Would you be able to tell me step by step how to do that so I can give it a try?

Regards,

Rob.

Hi Rob, I just added " -mem:1024" to my train.exe in the desktop icon by right clicking the icon getting the properties up, although the number does depend how much ram you have in the first place. Hope this helps.

All the best, Richard.

In LSE we had a problem where users were playing the act differently to us and breaking it :-)

If you stopped in the middle of the platform instead of the platform marker location an AI train appeared and crashed into the player train.
Not much help in this case, but it does prove that the best tested act in the world can be played differently by someone else and result in unexpected issues not seen before.
The act writer is likely to always drive the same, and it might not be same as the player.

Thanks to all the forum members for the advice re greater eastern problems. I have tried adding the memory switching to my MSTS shortcut, but this has not worked for me, so am now at a loss as to how to get the Up Anglia Express act to work. :(

Please go to the MT forums and post your specs. etc. in the appropriate thread. We're trying to figure out what is stopping some people's computers from starting this activity.

I have just received the Greater Western Route, installed it and have to say that I have never had so many error messgaes in any route before.

They are all of the same format - "Error reading database file Trains/Trainset 90036 or 86221, or 90001" or any loco that appears in the route by the look of things.

I would appreciate any help.

Alan,

Do the error messages include a reference to a line number, e.g. Line 105?

If so then you don't have MSTS Bin correctly installed. To double check, start up any activity or explore route session that will actually start on any route. Press F5 three times. You should get red writing in the top right corner of your screen on the first two presses and white writing in the top left and top right corners on the third press. If all of the writing disappears on the third press, Bin isn't installed correctly.

Bob,
Thanks - the writing does disappear at the 3rd press.

I have found in the past that uninstalling Bin and then reinstalling it leads to a message to the effect that it is already installed!
Any ideas to help me on this one?

Are you using the uninstaller to remove BIN or using Windows add/remove programmes?
