Introductory ride trains

Ok, in some of the introductory train rides, the trains don't always wanna stop in the station, or at a signal etc. It seems they are leaving it late to brake. Is there anyway of editing the eng files to make certain trains respond earlier in introductory mode?

Hi,

I don't think that any loco has ever been made to run specifically ( with special characterisitics) in the introductory train ride. It could possibly be that the consist you are using simply does not have good brakes! If you are in doubt, or just want to make life easy, perhaps try a 'light engine' with good brakes?

regards

To convert an activity to an ITR, open the ACT file in an unicode editor. A few lines down find "Mode ( 2 )".

Change that line to "Mode ( 0 )".

Just expect the relatively unintelligent AI engineman to be totally unaware of what's happening. For instance, do not expect him to plan ahead when there's a reduction in speed coming up. He will only react when he actually gets there.

In the light of the problem presented by the original poster in this thread, for this reason I have cloned rolling stock with extra braking power for use in some ITR's.

I generally invent an ITR as the first thing I do after installing a new route, just to take a tourist's first peek...

charlie

If you have MSTSbin then, in any activity, press Ctrl numberpad 2.
This will switch it to an ITR.

You can see what the AI driver does and decide if the activity is suitable for an ITR.

I assume there is also a way to change the sound file that gives you the introductory speech too to a personal one?
Some commercial add-ons seem to have their own...

Cheers,

James.
