End of EB?

Surprised not to see a thread already on here but I just browsed Europeanbahn's site and saw the following;
A number of small changes have taken place over the past months relating to EB activities. The main change is we are no longer developing product for TS1, and an active decision has been made not to support Rail Simulator/Railworks. Also for those of you who wish to remain in contact for whatever reason, we have changed our e-mail address (SPAM related). Please use the "Contact Us" Button which still works.
I can't see a shop on there, so I'm guessing they've called it a day?

Serious question to Mods/Admin.

If they have gone, would it be worth contacting them to see if they would allow UKTS to host the various patches/updates on the site (as I guess the website would probably disappear when the hosting fees are due).

I'm just a little worried that all of their routes will no longer being sold, since mainly because they do cover a fair bit of the country (well parts of the ecml, wmcl, mml, gwr and the brighton mainline). They may not be the best routes (that isn't saying that they are rubbish, they are still fairly good) but they are still fun and enjoyable!

Oh! :O

I for one will be sad, I know some of their routes were a little bit rushed in areas but really... is the computer mean't to be the "real world" in a box? I don't think so. Their routes were good and maybe since they have accomplished so many of them they could be (I hope they are) taking a break. But by the sounds of it, it seems grim.

R.I.P. EB

James.

I have to say that this is a shame - with the routes they had in development such as HS1 and other stock that was posted as dev work back in Jan, it really seems a shame that something has happened to cause an abrupt end to proceedings.

Not very exciting news to Cancel the HS1 and Railworks projects, but EB has done a lot. As far as I know EB has made one of the first third rail route (L2B), which eventually merged with Brighton to Portsmouth to become London South Coast. At least we still have a site and their products to buy as of yet.

All I can say I wish EB all the best for the future.

It does indeed appear their shop has closed.

I will talk to one of our admins to see if our supplier of EB products is going to be able to continue to supply (I don't see why not) and if we can get the patches hosted here for download.

I don't see any reason why any EB products will not be sold all the time there is stock of them.
CS are not going to just chuck it in the bin and make a loss on it.

A sad day indeed. I was looking forward to their route extensions, specially ECML and GWML. Perhaps their caterham branch or other started projects might be released as free downloads. Seems a shame to bin them. :(

Perhaps they may of just had enough of MSTS they have been going a long while.

I'm now wondering who else will follow, takes a lot of hanging in there day after day
to produce routes, stock, models of buildings and the like.

Sounds like time to move on in their lives to me.

Looking at the EB site the link to the shop is now there, not sure if it was there before or not, but the shop does still seem to be up and running.

Although they are only selling three of their routes, even then download only (the MML, GWR and WMCL)

But all routes are still available from CS on their shop - I'm not sure what the issue is as it is only the developer moving away - the distributor still has the distribution rights do they not?
