Hi John,
Easilyconfused wrote: the same people have the same problems each time with unzipping
This is what makes me think that there is some sort of problem with their PC.
The only time I ever had any problem like this it was caused by some newly bought RAM which turned out to be faulty!
Cheers,
Ged

After finding far too many missing or corrupt stock items I "bit the bullet" deleting all Highworth files, downloading anew without any accelerator or manager program, unzipping and installing, testing at all stages until I had the whole route, stock and activities installed, with no errors reported by checking programs.
Brief trials show that everything seems to be OK and I have created a Minroute of Highworth
However this is the worst installation I have had apart from a certain foreign program which caused me a lot on grief. And all it would appear because of conflict between DAP download accelerator and the UKTS files

That's a shame. I've never heard of any accelerator corrupting files before - poor internet connections yes but not an accelerator.
Anyway, glad it is all up and running for you now. Remember to keep with TSection 38 on Highworth for now as well.

Virtually all the Highworth files downloaded with DAP caused problems with attempts to unzip, no matter what unzip program was used. The file sizes seemed to be correct for each download.
When I disabled DAP by removing it ( it proved very difficult to "switch it off") and downloaded "straight" all the problems disappeared.

Worth mentioning to the creators of DAP? Worth discussing with Matt? It could be something to do with UKTS and download accelerators - though that would only make sense if you didn't have a premium account. I used to use GetRight with my UKTS Premium account and don't recall any file corruption problems.

Interesting. I use GetRight and never had any problems with it. I used to think download accelerators were a bunch of snake oil but since being on the 20MB service from Virgin I can max out that connection with multiple simultaneous downloads.
Never had any experience with DAP though.
