Hi everyone,

Just to let you know that there is now just one activity that needs testing in the final batch which i will try to complete tonight.

This will give the final total of 86 activities and will be the end of testing for Highworth.

Good effort Kieran. You must be pleased to have got all that testing finished!

All now done and activity pack and three BR era stock packs uploaded to Pete.

I downloaded the file just now and it unpacked okay. Whatever it was Pete seems to have fixed it.

I have just downloaded the new Highworth activities pack - three times - and the unzipped pack will not open. What program should be used to open it if it will not auto-run.

I find the error message in all three cases
‘Data error in BRActivities.exe’ File is broken

The download issues where the files were not available were fixed yesterday lunchtime.

As for the other reported problem - it downloaded fine here and installed first time. I use Winzip 11 that I got from work under the "home use" agreement.

Hi Gentlemen,
All four downloads successfully unpacked, using WinRAR v3.71.

I am sorry to say that there is something not right here. I have now downloaded the Activity pack 5 times. Each time the download shows as 1282Kb.

JustZipit unzips to a file UKTS_25526_BRactivities at 352Kb plus a picture of 62 Kb
The 352 Kb file opens to show an icon associated with auto install – a downward pointing arrow over a file. Clicking on this icon has no effect.

Opening the file with 7 zip gives a message that the file is broken

Opening with WinRar gives a message that “CRC failed in BRactivities.exe“

Winzip says “Invalid compresssed data to extract£

5 separate downloads, one in the last half hour, four different unzip programs all show a fault.

Highworth Activities remains unavailable to me. Frustration

I've also just downloaded and installed the files with no problems.

The zip file is 1.25Mb, the exe file is 1.20Mb, while the jpg is 56Kb!

Hi Tony,
Sorry you're having trouble downloading this file.

It would seem that you may have a problem with your hard drive.
Can I suggest that, if possible, you download to one of the following, instead of your normal location :
1. Something like a data stick, or SD card
2. A floppy drive, even a floppy disk would be big enough for the activities!
3. A separate partition on your hard drive.

My idea is to download to somewhere completely different to where you normally do.

.By the way, my download is 1,282KB (shown as 1.25MB, 1,312,457 bytes in File Properties).

Cheers,

Hi Tony,
All four Downloads unzipped to temp location.
Extracted to same location.
Installed to that same location. (As I always do before Installing to Sim)
Installed to Sim by Copy/Paste from that location and then by using self-extracter.

All worked fine including starting an act.

The Extractor was 'Compressed (Zipped) Folders'.

This is no more than a conformation that all is well with the Download.

Try to Extract the errant Zip to an unrelated Folder, maybe on the Desktop.
Which after all the typing is much as Ged has suggested. 8)

In the Properties Panel for my 'Activities' download is the Warning.
"Security: This file came from another computer and may be blocked to help protect this computer."
There is a button marked 'Unblock'
I am still using XP though.

Good luck
Doug

I have checked again by moving my downloaded files to another PC and using an earlier version of Winzip to unzip them.

I do find it interesting that each time a major download is released the same people have the same problems each time with unzipping. Winzip or WinRar are not expensive compared to the cost of the PC they run on. There is also the sticky recommending other free alternatives that I have used. It just baffles me why the same few people have the same issues time after time.
Kindest regards

In have to say that this is as far as I am aware the only time that I have raised a similar problem in respect to downloaded files.
I have, I imagine, downloaded hundreds of such files in the past with no problems at all.
