Re: Highworth - keeping the route alive.
The cab position is correct.
It's the view of the boiler from the window that's wrong.
Can't be corrected without editing the ace file. If that was done it would need the authors permission to upload.

Re: Highworth - keeping the route alive.
Hi All,
I have been fiddling with the Position and Direction of this Cabview.
These settings
Position ( 1.75 3 0 )
Direction ( 15 -18 -5 )
Move the view right and lower the front slightly. So the platform is in a more believable position. Thus.

Good luck

Hi Doug.
I think i may have confused you the view i want to change is the foward driving view that you get when you use up arrow + cabview (key 1) on this Loco it is at track level???? Not the one above.

Re: Highworth - keeping the route alive.
Hi Art,
That is the Headout view. The one you changed when you were asking about the Crew in the way a while ago.
It is in the .eng file under the Cabview line.
You say your changes are saving but the view is not changing. Has the view from the cab (Key 1) changed as this is what we were guiding you through.
Tell us what the Headout ( x x x ) line in the .eng file says. Be exact.
If you still have the Loco folder Backed on your Desktop there is no worry about messing up the Folder in Trainset when you change it.
Good luck
Doug

Re: Highworth - keeping the route alive.
Hi Art,
Anyway.
Act 22 unstored in Trainstore.
Close MSTS. Goto Train Simulator/Trains/Trainset/HW_Gwr2301/GWR2301.eng
Open the .eng file
Scroll down to the Headout line it should read:-
HeadOut ( 1.0 3.1 -3.3 )
Remember the spaces.
Save the changes.
Stop if you are stuck and ask!
Good luck
Doug
To be perfectly honest we have given the actual Folder and File names in each case, so finding the correct ones to change is just matching the name we gave. As we say if you are not sure ask!abclare wrote:Hi Doug.

Re: Highworth - keeping the route alive.
Hi Art,
Yes I have looked at it I try to check my replies first. The Headout values I posted were Copy/Pasted from the working loco Folder in my Trains Folder.
Here is a screenshot of it in the Sim:-

Click the image to zoom in
To be sure the values in your loco Folder in your Trainset Folder are the same as mine. Copy/Paste the posted values in my post into your Train Simulator/Trains/Trainset/HW_Gwr2301/GWR2301.eng File.
Come back
Good luck
Doug

Hi Doug.
Thats not the view i mean (cant do screen shots) it is the foward view which is up arrow + Cab View (No1) together which gives just the track in front as you drive foward i use this a lot. Sorry to be difficult but a bit old for all this now

Re: Highworth - keeping the route alive.
Hi Doug & Art,
I think Art means the cabview without the controls in view, brought up by Shift + 1. It gives a low down view over the right hand rail!
Cheers,
Ged

Re: Highworth - keeping the route alive.
Hi Ged & Art,
Yes worked that out now. Thanks Ged.
Art. Your description
HOWEVER the view Shift+1'without the Backplate' uses the same Position Values as the 'Cabview Position Statement' in the Cabview Folder
Train Simulator/Trains/Trainset/HW_Gwr2301/Cabview/GWR2301.cvf
The values I use are
Position ( 1.67 3 -4 )
Direction ( 15 -18 -5 )
Which gives this:-

Click the image to zoom in
The Crew are there because my cabview is set at the actual cab position not at the front Buffer Beam.
Use the method described earlier in the thread
http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 5#p1351138
to open the Cabview File and Copy/Paste my values above over the Position and Direction lines.
You have posted before about Crew in your view. Is this the view you meant then? If so the advice given then was wrong as it was all centered around the Headout Position the UP/Down keys next to the Numberpad on your Keyboard.
Which I am afraid is all due to not giving the right info. I apologise now as I know (as you have said) age is not on your side.
Yes worked that out now. Thanks Ged.

is why I was giving help on the CabView hence the Screenshots, When it should have been (as Ged kindly pointed out) on the Shift+1 View. This goes some way to explaining why your changes were not working.abclare wrote:it is the foward view which is up arrow + Cab View (No1)

Re: Highworth - keeping the route alive.
Hi Art,
What!
Changing those figures does nothing to the Cabview except move where it is placed. If the view worked before the change it will work after.
I do not know what you have done.
Now is the time to Copy/paste your Backup of the files back into the Sim.
Check that the act works OK.
Now Copy/Paste the contents of the 'GWR2301.cvf' file, open as usual with Wordpad, into a post so we can see it.
Good luck
Doug

Hi Doug.
Getting in a muddle, now i thought the change you showed was for the foward view (up arrow + cab view) that i want to change i dont want to change the cab view its fine just the foward view. I have put the original settings back and it runs o/k. May be i should just leave it alone as i can run form another view?????
