Arriva using Kuju couplings

Post by JohnKendrick »

An early morning service run by Arriva decoupled and split in two just north of York this morning. Are the 'real things' trying to emulate MSTS now?

Tim, if you're heading further north, perhaps you'll have to build this in!

Nice to be able to start at King's Cross now, thanks for 'new bit'!!

STOP PRESS!

Martin Heywood was seen in one of the broken corridor connection gangways with a laptop, making appropriate changes to something called

Spring (
Break ( 1.1e8N 1.1e8N )

Mr Heywood was later overheard questioning station staff at York asking something about what tile was York on?

I think he still gets flashbacks - may have been sending Al Salmon an email at the time for new paths and passing points :)

Mr Heywood was thrilled when the station staff at York found the tile!!!

Could the problem be something to do with York being on the edge of a tile??

Route builders please note - There is a set of completed tiles for the NER as per this sample!!!

talking of the biggleswade crossover... How do you go over without the coupler breaking?

What type of unit was it? 158, 156, 153's, 142, 143, 144?

Sorry John, your routes got the white tile syndrome. And no wonder you get judder at the tile joints, just look at all that grout! ;)

Im told the units split at Tollerton. Involved was a 142 and a 158. The 158 (with passengers and conductor) was left behind :(

The train involved was the 02:10 Newcastle - Manchester Airport.

thats alright, swt got word, and out done you.
some service from the west country via salisbury and basingstoke, was formed of 3 159's, the train normally runs as 9 coaches all the way, but one day this week the coupling decided it was time for a change, the bit i heard was about how the front 6 was passing through clpaham as the rear 3 was passing through wimbledon, and no split brake pipe activation!!! then we had 4 vep gapped at waterloo!

Obviously the use Kuju couplings is getting more widespread. They can't have applied the upgrade patch yet!!
